ANACS issues?
Sent a submission in late October 2025. No hurry but after thanksgiving order switched from processing to shipping, sat there a few days the page went blank and said system problems due to excessive submissions. Page returned to normal yesterday and order says back to processing. Anyone else having problems. I called them earlier in week and they told me they were having issues and were having to reanalyze every order and thats all I got. Couldn't tell me any different. 1st direct order with them.

I didn't know anyone sends anything to them anymore
I'm kinda surprised. It's been a while since I've had a submission with them but they have always been responsive with any issues or problems. I don't know what the issues are but if they're responding to phone calls and e-mails, it tells me they are trying to resolve it.

When ANACS is the only game in town, it's who you use.

When ANACS accepts collector coins for grading at about 20 shows a month, you should expect them to sometimes be overwhelmed with orders. Their economy grading has a current special of $14/modern coin when submitting ten or more coins. Over the years, I find them to be typically on the mark as far as grades go. I understand that they grade based on a collector
Traditional basis and not on current market trends. They are not Market Makers. Have a great Holiday Season.
From my conversation with them I was worried that what ever problem they had might cause them to have redo the submissions. Then when my submission switched from shipping back to processing it made me think it might be so. The girl sounded upset regarding the issue but was very courteous, just not willing to explain.
Not worried really about the time, just want my coins to be 1st. Lol

Why do you say it's the only game in town?

There are some coins or tokens the big two TPGs don't grade, but ANACS will.
I had some coins done by them a few years ago. They were great to work with and accepted special instructions/requests with no issues.
Here is one (I'll do a separate thread about them soon).
Oh, okay. Never mind. I get it now. Yes, I have a few DC's graded as well from ANACS.
The same way ICG is my only game in town for my counterfeits.

Yes ANACS is the only one at present that attributes the new found 2024 P DDR Kennedy half and hoping to be 1st. They hadn't had one submitted yet when I sent mine in. Whoo whoo 🤞

Whatever the problem was, my coins had to go back to grading and attributing and should be going to Photography on the 18th, so may get them back this year.

ANACS has established a place in the market. They seem to do a very good job with the things they specialize in and collectors like that. Less expensive coins and medals have a big market. Not everyone wants to spend four figure amounts on coin or medal items ... and ... they don't care about stickers. I'm sure their current problem will be quickly resolved and all will be well.
Attributions like that have to be shipped from Colorado to Ohio and back. The additional turnaround is highly dependent on how slammed they are for attributions at any given time.

This is pretty darned hilarious. At the recent GJCC show, the ANACS table was busy all day long and I even gave them a 30 coin submission myself. There are certain items that they are good for.
I spoke with the ANACS rep and I understand that they have two problems. (1) they source some part from China and are getting clobbered by supply-chain hiccups, and (2) they have very limited grading capacity for certain items that constrains how fast they can get coins processed.

I send coins to ANACS when I want a coin authenticated or it doesn't have a high value to warrant sending to PCGS. I can drop off the coins at the local coin show and have them returned at a later show. That way I don't pay any shipping charges either way.

I use PCGS, NGC, ANACS, and ICG. They're all good for something. I haven't yet used CAC and currently don't plan to because all the other four fit my needs. ICG is good for Encased Postage, Counterfeits, Hobo Nickels, Potty Coins, and Depression Era Wooden Money. None of the others do them. ANACS is good for lower priced items and many other things that PCGS & NGC won't do. One that comes to mind is Coin Club Medals.
