this is new to me, perhaps it has been "known" around the hobby for a few months. I thought I would share as he is a known bad actor. I was reading another message board and they mentioned that Brent was still in the hobby. Apparently is a manager over at MBA with Mike Baker.

I was pretty stunned to read this as I assumed he had skittered into a dark corner somewhere away from the hobby.

they even included a link to the oregon business registry website listing him with MBA. Is he a also a partner in the business?

wonders never cease.

    One of the Brent Huigens (PWCC) stories:

    Brent had a vault where customers could store their cards. The cards skyrocketed in value during the covid boom. At this time, Brent allowed the owners of the vaulted cards to take out loans using their vaulted cards as collateral. When the values of the cards fell (when the market corrected), Brent was now in a situation where he gave out much more money than the value of the cards that he was holding. The owners of the vaulted cards defaulted on their loans and as a result of the default, the cards now belonged to Brent, at a value much less than he loaned out. He lost a ton of money and later was bought out by Fanatics for pennies on the dollar.

    Will MBA/Mike Baker bring aboard Brett's known crony Gary "Scissor Hands" Moser next?

    Now it makes me wonder if Brett is slipping some MBA stickers and making DB entries on trimmed cards he has slipped past PSA. Plausibly given his position at MBA it would be a very easy thing for him to do -- Bret has done so much worse than that in the past.

    At very least it speaks to lack of cred for MBA. Seriously why could'nt Mike Baker have found someone with a less concerning past then Brett? Who's does Mike have up next up for a high level position at MBA, Bill Mastro?

    I have no idea why anyone would consider Mike Baker's authentication. The scam of paying money to have MBA place a sticker on an already graded card is beyond ridiculous. Of course, a well known scammer like Brett is going to see a good scam and hop on board.

    I am a heavy collector in the USFL. I was totally Shillbidded by this guy and his company. It was a high end card for the USFL set. Stay AWAY from this guy. So so sad for honest collectors.
