Just like @lordmarcovan , I also like older proofs. I think of the fact that someone purchased them from the mont. I'll never know the person and I expect that he (most likely) and I do not share many opinions in common, BUT we do share the urge to collect coins. So there is at least some common ground.

Anyway, let me post one of them, a silver 3 cent piece, PR66. I purchased it because I thought the TrueView was so pretty.

    Thats nice

    Yes. And...?

If you were being pedantic about the inclusion of some World coins in this thread, I will point out that CU does not have a general Coin Chat category like CoinTalk does. For topics with mixed content that include both US and World coins, the thread author is forced to choose either one category or the other: either the US forum or the World forum. Two-thirds of the coins in my post in the OP were United States coins, so this post was made on the US Coins forum. Had two-thirds of them been World coins, I would have made the post on the World Coins forum.

That pattern with the text-free obverse is extremely cool. I like it for the same reason I like the No Stars Seated coins. It’s uncluttered.

Great coin. Victoria young head bronze 1860-1873 is probably the best looking British bronze coinage ever made. I think they switched to a second older portrait in 1874 which lasted until the veiled head in 1895.

@jfriedm56: thanks Zack! I recently started the 12 coin 1C PR short set - still need 5. You have any spare change? Hahahahaha……
