BTW and WC Commemoratives-should they be graded?

I just pick up 11 p,d,s sets of silver commemorative half dollars. I normally do not collect commemoratives and in this case I thought the collection was unique enough not to pass up.
These sets were stored for many years in small brown envelopes.
Booker T. Washington: 1948, 1949, 1950, and 1951
Washington Carver: 2-1951, 2-1952, 2-1953, and 1954
I know these are fairly common even though they have low mintage.
I didn’t want to overload the system with tons of pictures therefore I decided to include a representative sample (1949 p,d,s Booker T and 1953 p,d,s Washington Carver) from each series.
Based on these pictures what grade would you give these commemoratives?

I don’t think the coins are of high enough quality - MS65 at a minimum - to merit the cost of grading.

Coins posted MS63-MS64. Not worth getting graded IMO.

Sell them raw and use funds to buy something graded and beaned.
That Commemorative era is a time of gorgeous design coupled with some lateer head scratching decisions.

If you want to keep them unique, leave them as-is.
If you want to increase liquidity, get them graded.
I would hold off on the 1953-S Washington-Carver as it is significantly more common than the P and D of that year and the cost of grading may not be worth the increase in value.
The 1949-P BTW looks like the best of the 6 you showed.

They are very nice lustrous coins. But not very high quality material - lots contact marks. Probably good raw coin browse box material.
Agreed.
Collector since 1976. On the CU forums here since 2001.
Thank you everyone for your comments.
I will keep them raw.
