My name is Kellen Hoard, and I currently serve as one of the Representatives of the General Public on the Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee. I am an undergraduate student, and the youngest person to ever serve on the Committee. For those of you unfamiliar with the CCAC, it was established in 2003 by Congress to advise the Secretary of the Treasury on the themes and designs of all US coins and medals. The CCAC serves as an informed, experienced and impartial resource to the Secretary of the Treasury and represents the interests of American citizens and collectors.
This is the twelfth installment of my updates about what the CCAC is doing at its meetings. I think it is critical that the collecting community have insight into and input to the CCAC, and will try to answer any questions you may have.
Here is my update for the CCAC meeting on November 18, 2025.
Candidate designs for the Shirley Chisholm Congressional Gold Medal were discussed in consultation with Oakland Mayor Barbara Lee and CEO of the Shirley Chisholhm Cultural Institute Barbara Bullard. The CCAC recommended the following obverse and reverse designs with some modifications to the inscriptions:

Candidate designs for the 2027 Native American $1 Coin were discussed in consultation with Director of the Dr. Susan La Flesche Picotte Center Liz Lovejoy Brown. The CCAC recommended the following reverse design:

Candidate designs for the 2028 Native American $1 Coin were discussed in consultation with Associate Curator of Native Hawaiian History and Culture at the National Museum of the American Indian Halena Kapuni-Reynolds. The CCAC recommended the following reverse design:

Candidate designs for the 2027 – 2030 Youth Sports Quarters Washington Obverse were discussed. The CCAC recommended the following obverse design:

Candidate designs for the 2027 – 2030 Paralympic Sports Half Dollars Kennedy Obverse
were discussed. The CCAC recommended the following obverse design:
Let me know if you have any questions about the work done in this meeting; I will try to answer as well as I can, but there are contraints on what I am able to share publicly. Please remember that the CCAC does not make the final decision; instead, it makes its recommendation (alongside the Commission of Fine Arts) to the Secretary of the Treasury. If you would like to watch the November meeting in full in order to see all of the deliberations, it is available on Youtube here.

The Washington and Kennedy obverses are very impressive, especially the Washington.
Ya got me with #1, I like 👍
The Washington's pretty cool to
These are all great
Kellen! Great thanks for your time and interest at the CCAC. Thumbs up for the Washington obverse!
What Jefferson?
Fixed (apologies)
Thank you, Kellen.
I can see potential striking problems with the Washington obverse. It may not be appropriate for coins that are designed for actual circulation.
Kellen - As always, thanks for posting your monthly summaries. As a collector, I appreciate these insights.
I believe for the first time, I really like each of these recommended designs. The Shirley Chisholm obverse image is fantastic!
