Watching the game, Sanders has thrown some nice passes and also missed a few open guys high. He had the one INT but overall has looked OK,

Then again, this is the Raiders.

The DL for the Browns has been tough.

Who calls plays for the Browns? If these plays are not drawn in crayon I'll be shocked!

You guys are getting a little ridiculous with the “not good enough to play in Cleveland” stuff. That happens with every franchise.

Regarding Dawson, he was playing behind a bum named Milt Plum and didn’t seem eager himself playing anytime soon. To that end, if Dawson was so good at that time in his career why were the Browns already his 2nd team?? Clearly, to me and another bum named Paul Brown, Len Dawson wasn’t good enough to be a starter in the NFL.

After some time with KC he got better and became one of the best QB’s in NFL history, he just wasn’t that in 1961 yet.

NFL rosters are limited and player evaluation means players with promising futures can’t be kept. Also, hindsight is always 20/20. I would take the assessment of Paul Brown over that of chatroom members. All day long.

I don’t really know what your point is except proving Paul Brown and you were wrong. Dawson was AFL mvp in 1962, the year after he got out of Cleveland. So clearly he was ready to play just didn’t get a chance.

Credit where credit is due, Sanders played a relatively competent game in his first start. Not bad at all.

We shall see how he does against better competition as the season wears on.

My grade would be 6 out of 10 for Sanders. At the half my thinking for Gabriel were that he might have lost his job, but a bigger sample is needed.

Nothing like getting half your yards and only TD on a 1 yard screen pass against a terrible team thanks to Sampson the RB

That was actually a nice, crisp, out pass. He did make some very nice throws, but the one which I thought was the best was a little dump over the line on 3rd and long to convert from their own end. He was a lot better than I expected and... you know... that team is a disaster on offense. That defense was impressive today... I don't care if it was the Raiders - that team plays. That hit on Jeanty was ridiculous. He's going to be unscrambling his brains for days.

It was but also at the same time anyone could have thrown that and Sampson was why it was so good. Judkins had some nice ones too and Garret is a monster

They got a win against a bad team and I do believe several players were more important than him

Other players performed great and that's definitely what got them the win, that happens a lot even with great QB's

I'm not going to sit here and say Sanders had a earth shattering game BUT the entire NFL world was eyes on that kid and no doubt the pressure on him was huge

He played well considering probably most people thought it was going to be a disaster and even more were hoping it was

I'm rooting for the kid and think he deserves to be the starter until he doesn't

Yeah - what perk said there. He didn't fall on his face and that's a lot more than everyone seemed to expect... and "loudly predict".

I do think hes the best option right now but was less than impressed. If that swing pass was a yard or two backwards he doent get any credit for it
