One of many reasons we should be able to leave negative feedback for a buyer. Throwing a red flag would go a long way for the next guy.
I would like his ID to block him.

The only significant loss ($725) that I have had was a purchase from my website using a stolen credit card.
The name of the recipient of the coin was given as "Michael Rhodes" and the address turned out to be a box at a FedEx store in Wilmington Delaware. That was in 2022.

It is definitely a long-shot, but some of my situation sounds a little like the case reported in this thread, including the email exchange that I had with the perpetrator and their location (Delaware).

    I'd be freaking out.
I dont see how a photoshopped label could work.
It has crossed my mind that the post office bears some of the responsibility.
They handled something and delivered something somewhere.
I am truly sorry to hear about your situation.
    I hope things work out.

You can do it with a magic marker. Print a label, cross out the address and write in a new one.

This guy's Ebay Feedback screams SCAM and WATCH OUT. Shouldn't take more than 15 seconds to realize this for anybody going forward.

It's one thing if someone is a bit slow or there are 1 or 2 problems. Every reveiw on this scammer screams Watch Out !! :o

100% of his feedback is positive and we haven't shared the buyer's eBay name with you, so what are you referring to?

Edit: Oh, you are likely referring to the address's Google reviews which we shared earlier in the thread? That isn't feedback.

    UPDATE

Here is a similar case from several years ago documented on eBay's official forums: https://community.ebay.com/t5/Selling/Sellers-Beware-New-Scam/td-p/33145284

It describes this return fraud scheme very accurately.

"eBay return fraud involving empty packages or sending returns to a different address is a known issue, and while eBay has some systems in place to reduce this kind of abuse, it is not entirely foolproof. eBay typically requires returns to be shipped using a prepaid label provided via their system, and tracking must confirm that the package is delivered to the correct address. However, someone could theoretically print a label but affix it to an empty box or mail it to a nearby but incorrect address within the correct zip code.

eBay issues prepaid return labels that specify the seller’s return address, and both the buyer and seller can track the return to ensure it is marked delivered to the intended location.

If a return is sent to a wrong or altered address, it can cause complications. Sellers can contact eBay support with evidence including tracking info and communications to demonstrate any fraudulent return behavior.

Sellers are encouraged to document the package they receive, including posting opening videos and verifying the received package's weight against the original. If a discrepancy is found (like an empty box), sellers may appeal to eBay using this evidence.

Resolution rests heavily on the evidence provided by the seller and eBay’s investigation. Sellers should retain all correspondence, shipment weights, and document any anomalies."

Maybe the empty weight of the package is the key.

Maybe should get a PO BOX as return address which should make it more difficult to do this kind of scam.

Would make it easier. You just need to change the box number

well, the post office po box person might notice the wrong number since he/she might remember most of the names for the po box.
