I was wondering if anyone has dealt recently with Bellisario Rare Coin Gallery with a PO Box in Waban, Mass. I have been trying to reach them by email and phone for 2 weeks and they have ignored the emails and don't answer the phone. I left messages but they haven't called me back. Just curious if anyone knows if they are out of business or even legitimate.

I worked with Lee a few years ago when I was with a local auction house. Fine gentleman. I can't offer anything other than speculation.

They used to be one of my favorite sellers, always had very attractive coins! Haven’t seen much listed by them recently!
If they don't answer their phone or respond to e-mails, there's a problem and I would not deal with them.

I bought a Civil War Token from Bellisario a while back. They responded promptly to my questions regarding payment and shipped the token fast.
Sometimes Dealers get swamped or have things going on outside of work.
TBD
I wonder if there's a place on the internet to help find feed back on the place of interest, just saying
I know who he is but I cannot honestly say that I have seen him the local shows.
Some people go on vacation or get I'll. Hopefully thats not the case.

Mr. Bellisario has a website which includes reviews and the business appears to reply to each comment left. The last reply was around 10/14/25, more recent reviews have received no reply. Considering that he's been in business since 1965, he's certainly old enough to have health issues which if serious, could preclude responding to emails or phone calls.
I purchased a 1955 DD Cent from them earlier this year. I spoke with Lee on the phone. He was very polite and I felt very comfortable dealing with him. All of the coins I've seen him offer for sale have been exceptionally nice at fair prices. He also list coins for sale on Collectors Corner.
I hope all is well 🙏
Just an update he did answer his phone a few days ago and I placed an order and have a tracking number. I didn't ask what happened, I assume travel or illness but all seems good.
