New Coin Jar Find!
Russ had this one separated with a few others. I don't know why? ![]()
1982 - P Washington Quarter.

It's pretty clean. I can't seem to get the glare off. Sorry.

Just a quarter, worth 25c.
Maybe he was getting ready to visit a vending machine or parking meter
worth 25C
I was hoping to see the jar.

not sure what you are asking about
if it is about the slightly misaligned die like the nickel, then this one is not off center enough to be worth anything extra over 25 cents
I don't think it is off center either. I don't know why he had it separated. It was in a little paper packet with a (?) on it. Something for me to puzzle over perhaps?
As for his coin jar. It's a 5 Gal water container sitting behind the door in his closet. Too heavy to move.
I was going to take the coins to the bank, one deposit bag at a time. (Heavy!) One of his Buds suggested I look through them for collectables. I had to cut a hole in the top to take them out, a few at a time. I have my winters work cut out for me
some places are giving rewards for turning in cents
Unless you just want to sort through them for the fun of it, I'd dump them into a coinstar and be done with it. Coinstar will spit out any silver coins, which is the most likely valuable coin you will find in a random jar of coins. Check out the coinstart thread.
The only cents I have found so far are Indian head and they are too interesting to let go for a reward. I will probably see if one of his Buds wants them or perhaps some youngster who is a collector. I will keep it in mind.
Thanks!
keep the indian head and wheat cents.
at minimum wheats are worth maybe 3 cents each and indian cents even more than that. there are desirable ones that will start in the dollars range and go up from there... even if they are circulated
as far as silver, even the non-collectible silver quarters retail for $9.50 each
