Who else likes PCGS 2.1 holders? Post 'em!
These holders have grown on me over time.
Picked this one up the other day and it's a real clean coin with strong bands. The holder is in "like new" condition also, which adds to the whole package. ![]()

I just found my first one with a cut label with “PCGS” at the top yesterday. I guess that’s 2.1b.

My Collection of Old Holders
Never a slave to one plastic brand will I ever be.
Bought back when you actually had to pay a modest premium for a 64 vs a 63.
I really like the Gen 2 holders. Too bad so many dealers put their stickers on the reverse. Many of the holograms were destroyed that way. Tough to find nice ones.

These are my 2 PCGS 2.xx
It's all about what the people want...
Here’s one of three that I own:
The other two are a 1936-d Buffalo and a 1941-S Walker both in gem 65.

These early gen. 2.xx OGHs are some of my favorites. When I first started buying certified coins (1989-1992), these were abundant. So were rattlers, that, at I time I thought were cheap looking and didn’t purchase. I’ve since come around. I must own between 20-30 of them. Here are a few from that time period that I bought or had them sent in by my dealer at the time.

Nice coins here.
2.1 is the clamshell, right? Sometimes it’s hard to tell in the photos.
.
Yes, it’s a two-piece shell.

There seems to be some confusion about the Gen 2.1 slabs. Here’s the parameters:
1) the label is a pale green & of perforated cardboard stock;
2) it has a plastic collar surrounding a 2 part holder (aka “clamshell”);
3) the PCGS logo is in plastic on the bottom right of the collar (this is an important distinction);
4) “PCGS” may or may not appear at the top center of the tag (this is confusing but a fact).
Hope this helps!

This is a 3.1.
@jfriedm56 Only your 1972 DDO is a Generation 2.1. The rest are 3.0 or 3.1s.
