Hi guys. Local coin shop graded this coin at 66 possibly 67. Recommended sending it in. My limited knowledge tells me those are super high grades and tough to achieve. What do you guys think? Thanks

    Tell him if he’ll pay for grading, you’ll split the alleged profits.

    From those images I don't know what to tell you other than I would be highly suspicious of all grading opinions from that shop from now on.

    Whatever grade that coin is now, an acetone bath and a few drops of verdi-care would bring that coin up a grade or two....guaranteed! A perfect candidate for verdi-care in my non-professional opinion.

    Disclaimer: However, if you know nothing about minor cleaning or conservation...... DON'T TOUCH IT.

    Is the dealer paying for grading, or are they just trying to sell you a coin that YOU can then have graded? I'm not casting aspersions, but I don't see this as a 65... a 66... or RD. IMHO...

    MS63 RB at best. Obviously the coin shop can’t grade uncirculated Lincoln cents.

    haha... ok. The odd toning doesn't look like what I'd consider to be a wood grain appearance either.

    quit trying a "guess the grade" resubmissions on the forum. you had answers back then. they didn't change on try #2 here. give up

    considering you are still trying: how much did you pay for it and can you return it?

    As was previously mentioned I did try a different coin shop and that was their opinion. This is just a fun hobby we are doing and I’m asking questions to learn. My kids are reading this trying to form opinions and knowledge about a fun hobby. My goodness

    We are not trying to trade coins for money. More so trying to learn the hobby for fun. I brought some coins in to a different dealer and he thought some would be good for grading. This was one of them. Thank you guys for the help and constructive feedback

    Maybe the photos are unimpressive and the true remaining luster not apparent, the strike is not the strongest ……..but really look at it and try and find a single contact mark ……. There aren’t any. I vote for conservation and better images. (But after seeing the Blay coin every other 19 looks like crap)
