Recent consignment to a YN ...... having fun!

A golf buddy of mine has a 10 year old grandson who is really into coins. Had him over a few months ago and supplied him with some fun samples, boxes, etc.

Recently decided to send him a small bank bag of material, the deal being we split the proceeds 50:50. He is already well known in the local coin shops.

He's having a great time with them. Grandpa helped him develop a spreadsheet on Excel.

Thank you note arrived shortly afterwards - can't wait to see how he does. :)

Gone but not forgotten: IGWT, Speedy, Bear, BigE, HokieFore, John Burns, Russ, TahoeDale, Dahlonega, Astrorat, Stewart Blay, Oldhoopster, Broadstruck, Ricko, Big Moose, Cardinal.

    That’s awesome Tim!
Gonna be fun to watch him…if you ever get the opportunity be sure to bring him by my table someday, i’ll work a deal with him (heavily) in his favor.

I love it and am certain you will keep this note.

So...when should I expect to find a gift package containing the group of coins we discussed via PM last night?

Awesome! Good for both of you.

How many counterfeits got tossed into the bag? Those would probably teach some of the best lessons.

The YNs need to spend some time under the tutelage of a seasoned professional in spite of the temptation of entrusting too much to novices.

Another reason to love this hobby ☺️

Several of the YNs I know through the local coin clubs are now fully functioning adults and at least one is paying part of his Uni tuition via his dealing.

    Great story!

There is so much packed into this project that will benefit him in so many ways.

    • teach him about coins
    • teach him about tracking values
    • spreadsheet experience
    • experience in negotiating
    • face to face transactions
    • networking
    • researching things
    • letter-writing experience (those notes)
    • lesson about working for a financial return

Whether he becomes a lifelong collector or not, those lessons will make a real difference in his life.
