Just received the bad news that Bob Travis has passed away @ age 85. While Bob was a great collector, particularly of FE’s & IHC’s, he was an even greater man. I learned so much from him about “our” collecting faves. I’m certainly much better off for knowing him & spending quality time not only talking coins, but about life in general. I’ll surely miss him!

I did not know Bob, but it's sad to lose great collectors and their knowledge. My condolences.

Never speak ill of the dead. That says more about you than them. Please remove your post.
i hope he had a fulfilled life rip
@ancientrodriguezfam:
Bob was a fair man, among other attributes. If he wanted fair value, he was just like any other collector or seller.
Your post denigrates his memory; I have to agree with @MWallace. It’s more a reflection of you than it is of Bob.

That proves nothing. I go into a lot of businesses and don't buy anything, for a variety of reasons.
Still no reason to gratuitously speak ill of the departed.
This might be ragebait.

You just don’t get it. This isn’t an appropriate thread in which to post your trivial gripes. It’s even worse when you know that (obviously) Mr.Travis can’t present his side.

I didn't know him, but my condolences to all who knew and loved him.
