Tarriff costs / Customs fees

What's the best way to figure out tariff costs & customs processing fees from Canada?
It's only a $35 card if that helps. Is it pointless now to buy out of country?

    i just got a $125 wax box from canada to NY and didnt pay any fees. it was sent via postal mail and the description on the package was sportscards.

    As a Canadian.... been wondering about this as I have stop shipments. Are American's being hit with big import fees? Seems like it but not always.

    I actually stopped buying from international sellers due to tarrif fears. I kinda bought one wax box as a test to see what happens and I didn't get any extra fees and it showed up at my doorstep like the old days.

    I've been building a 1971 OPC baseball set over the past few years. I believe the extra hit is 35% so I stopped buying from Canadian sellers. Just came across an Ernie Banks which is a tough card so I bid accordingly (what I would pay less the 35%) and won the card. Canadian seller ended up shipping it via USPS from Niagara Falls, NY so I was spared the 35%.
    If people are not getting hit with the 35%, I may give Canadian sellers more of a shot - I agree a larger sample size is needed.

    Seems like seller could receive larger bids if mentioning the items are shipped from USA Address in the listing.

    I didn't check to see where he shipped from...maybe he did ship from Niagra which would make sense.

    Not card related, but about a month ago I bought a pair of Nike shoes off Ebay from a Canadian seller. They were about $100. When I checked out, I didn't have to pay any additional tariffs so I thought I'd have to pay them upon delivery. Got delivered via FedEx and still didn't have to pay anything. I thought I dodged a bullet, but then a week later, got a bill for about $50 from FedEx for my tariff dues. I've never had to deal with this before, so I wasn't sure how it would play out.

    There's at least a touch of irony that they demanded additional costs after you purchased "sneakers".

    FWIW I've read elsewhere that some of the fees people are paying are the customs clearing fees charged by private carriers like FedEx and UPS. These are separate from any tariffs and are charged by the carriers for their administrative work in getting the package through customs.

    Based on anecdotal evidence I'd try to get delivery by USPS (and the respective postal service on the shipping end) instead of FedEx or UPS.

    Broker fees... and USPS is the cheapest by far. Received some crazy broker fees from the couriers in the past... and they quite often hold the package hostage and will not deliver until paid.

    Sports cards are part of CUSMA ... so cards made in the US should be exempt... but still confused since the removal of the de minimis.

    Question for the US eBay buyers.... does the shipping cost show an import fee estimate when buying?

    Not that I've encountered. Like you mentioned anything shipped by usps has been fine no extra fees. The UPS one I had came with a brokerage fee after the card was delivered. 2 weeks later get a bill from UPS for $15. Alot of times brokerage fees need to be paid at time of delivery.

    I am curious what customs codes are on the slips for those who are, and are not, having to pay duties for sports card purchases imported... from Canada or anywhere.

    I use 4911.99 when shipping from Canada. Right now, using Canada Post/USPS is not an option on eBay for the US. They are still setting up the tariff collection service... which I am sure eBay will apply a fee

    Last week I checked on buying a classic car from Canada. The tariff is an additional 35%.
