AL East leader by 3.5 games 7/7/25. I'm enjoying it while I can.

They could easily pull off the division, the Yankees pitching is horrible
Now we have the Red Sox to worry about.

I have my doubts that the Sox or Yankees will catch your Jays
If the Sox don't I'm rooting for them
The World Series is wide open this season, no question about it.
Great season no matter how it turns out.

Go Jays
Got my bet in, my usual $5, months ago on a Jays WS win, 11-1. Am hoping for at least a competitive series even if I lose. Just don't want a sweep, unless the Jays do it.
I feel the Dodgers will win this but not as easily as if they were playing the Mariners where all games would be played in their time zone. At least vs the Jays they have to play some games 3 time zones away. Not sure if that will be a difference maker but it's something I would think?
I think at this point they are all ready for anything
L.A. - first 2 games in Philly - WIN WIN.....L.A. - first 2 games in Milwaukee - WIN WIN.....notice a pattern here? hmm
My M's were 9 outs away. Brutal. George Springer is a hard out, and true Mariner Killer.
Jays/Dodgers should be a great series.

Blue Jays in 6 games.

I think LA is going to win, again. but, i will be rooting for the jays and for Ohtani to have a good individual series. I still remember that crazy lineup they had back in 1993: henderson, Alomar, Molitor, Carter, Olerud, White. 3 HOFers and Olerud hit over .360 that year
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
I remember watching Joe Carters game winning HR

A few questions: Do the Dodgers have a farm system?? Do they develop talent?? Do they just use the Free Agent market to essentially try to buy the World Series??
"Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety," --- Benjamin Franklin
I think all of the above
Other teams develop the talent then Dodgers swoop in and buy the smaller market teams stars on expiring contracts. Dodger farm system is for show.
Dodgers develop a ton of talent and then use it responsibly to make trades instead of massively overpaying like some GMs like Preller do in trades and their top prospects are generally off limits
They lucked into Freeman from his agent and they got lucky with Betts too from Boston waiting to long to try and extend him or trade him where they just had to take what they could get for him by the time they decided to trade him. Snell would still be a Padre but their owner died his free agent year and the kids are fighting over control of the team and limiting spending.
Even Othani that was sort of lucky since most Asian players prefer to stay on the west coast. Hes an anomaly in that he makes so much off the field he was able to get a 700 million contract with 680 million deferred for a decade and then Yamamoto wanted to play with Othani who was willing to do the deferral to sign him. Yamamoto was signing with who ever Othani did and the Padres got close
Theyve had bad luck too though. May and Walker were legit aces whose careers both fell off a cliff from a second TJ surgery, but certainly have had a lot of luck the last few years with various circumstances and do have stars that they drafted

The way the Yankees over the years plucked talent from the rest of the league, I always felt the league was their farm system.
Pirates, A's and Tampa are the three that kinda are the farm system for everyone else

Dodgers do have a really good farm system. And they’re both active and successful with their international signings. Dodgers were one of the first MLB clubs to create year round training facilities in places outside the US. That’s been a recipe many other clubs have followed to improve their talent pipelines.

Interesting isn't it, particularly because their road record was only 41-40 this season.
Clear the bases🌋
Interesting stat on TV. In 11 WS appearances when Dodgers started on the road they only won it all 1x. Hope this trend continues.
Had to get to LA's bullpen.
1 is better than none.
Ouch
Pattern squashed.
New pattern emerges. WWWWLX
It could be a message but we need another game to decipher it.
If W is 1 and L is 0 we have 11110x. Could be 3C or 3D. In ascii 3C is < and 3D is =. Which could tell us of what the outcome of game 3 will be. But what does that mean.
Maybe it’s 9 though if the wins were dashes. Is there anything meaningful about the number 9 to anyone?
I think my new favorite MLB player is Alejandro Kirk!!! The guy looks like anything but an athlete let alone a baseball player. After he cracked one off the wall last night and thought about 2nd base the announcer said something about him making a big turn but then getting back to 1st. The other guy says "Kirk does a lot of things right but running isn't one of them" and it's the truth. He makes me think he'd be Jose Altuve's bigger brother.
Go Jays, it's only one game but it's a nice start.

Its crazy that its been a decade since theres been a complete game in the WS

Also lost Urias due to his actions. Lost Bauer too.
Very true. The Urias one he deserved it and was found guilty. Great arm but just cant do that. The Bauer one still annoys me how he was found not guilty over and over again and all indications point to him being blackballed out of the league.

This must be the first WS double header in history as we move to the 18th. Never thought I 'd see a game like this in the WS.
that was brutal

crazy game. second longest game (for time) all time. the weirdest thing is that the longest game, over 7 hours, was also with the Dodgers just 7 years ago against the Red Sox. that one was also 18 innings, but lasted longer because of no pitch clock.
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
Ohtani on base 9 times. pretty insane. when that guy is locked in, it is an amazing thing to see. now he will be on the mound tonight!
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
I would imagine that some high rollers betting this game didn't make it. They ran out of nitroglycerin pills around the 15th inning. LOL
I know I pooped out at around 10:45 Eastern time. was pretty shocked when i woke up and saw it went 18!
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
I'm glad I live in Albuquerque as I got to see the whole game. Ohtani is by far one of the best players I have ever seen. Last time he pitched he hit 3 homers as well as winning the game. How do you compete with that. The Blue Jays manager tried to get around him by intentionally walking him 3 times and that worked this time around but he still got on base which is the object of baseball and sooner or later it bites you on the ass.
