Silver Dollar question

Found this in the collection. Looks really neat, so got kind of excited at first. However.... upon trying to find out what it is, I'm seeing conflicting info. Everything from it being a Chinese fake to it being some kind of restamp.
Can you guys give me any definitive info on this thing?

Fake
And a really bad one at that. Not even silver.

Heh, alright alright... I get it, it's fake.
I have to wonder how this ended up in the collection.

Just out of curiosity, where did you get the advice that it is "some kind of restamp"?
Wherever you got that advice needs to never be consulted about coins ever again. Seriously. This is not subtle or close. The coin type wasn't issued until 1986 and it looks WAY different, even to an absolute n00b.
Also, nice pictures, it's tough to image coins accurately.

That's an older fake ASE, probably from at least 20 years ago.

I have to agree a bit with what @lermish has written. I'm not certain who might have told you it could be "some kind of restamp" and I am not exactly certain what that phrase means, anyway, but if this was directly from a human source then you have to realize that person cannot really be trusted to give you good information in the future. If, however, it was from a Google or AI search then that just means don't believe everything you read on the internet.
As others have mentioned, this is all fake, all day, everyday and you can buy these by the gross online for very little and then offer them on ebay and etsy to troll for folks who don't know better. I can also assure you that it is not silver.
Good luck with the rest of the collection and you did the right thing by posting your question here with quality images regarding this fake.

I think we need to know what "restamp" is supposed to mean...

Fake as a $3 bill but worse.
That one is a joke.

I didn't do it.

well, there wasn't one made in 1900, so....
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but your coin is not genuine. It is fake, and a bad one. I have seen these before, so I assume people are getting them online somewhere for less than a couple of dollars.
