Reintroduction

WACoinGuyWACoinGuy Posts: 1,224 ✭✭✭✭

Hi! I'm an old time forum member who dropped out for a bit (20 years!) but have recently psuedo-retired and started getting back into the hobby. Not that I ever left, but my purchases and interest have started picking back up this year. Finally getting around to filling some of those holes in my sets that have been there forever.

Anyway, looking forward to connecting (or re-connecting with anyone else from two decades ago)!

I remember you. Were you friends with Russ or Boichiman? I am in Oregon and have been here since before the "You Suck" days when we were making coins and Ebay was hot.

Yeah, you're familiar too. I never met Russ in person, but we exchanged posts a bit

Lately I’ve been focusing on the early federal coins for my type set (like my recently acquired avatar) - really liking the late 18th and early 19th century coins. Still made some purchases over the last twenty years - most notably put together a set of peace dollars and a set of classic quarter eagles.

    Welcome back

The bitterness of "Poor Quality" is remembered long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.

Welcome back. It's sort of amusing to realize that you last post before today was in April 2009. But talk about coming back with a bang--a chain cent and your quarter eagle. Your Peace dollar is cool but I really like the cent and quarter eagle!

Thanks. I put together the peace dollars first but yeah as I get older I’m finding the earlier, circulated coins resonate with me more

Back when you left, you may remember me as that annoying kid from the east coast. Well, I’m still annoying, but (except perhaps relative to most of the folks here 😁) I’m not a kid and now I’m your neighbor.

i don't know if you know, but this forum software has a bug where it randomly (mostly not) sends posts to "needs moderation" purgatory. this can happen with a new thread, a new post or an edit... and even private messages

if you are writing something long and/or with lots of pics, copy the text out to MS notepad or something similar on apples before you hit post message

I haven't met him, though I would be happy to!

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

Too bad I didn't come back before the PNNA show - but if there's another upcoming NW event/show, be great to meet some folks in the area!
