Yahoo, the Yankee's have been eliminated!!

MaywoodMaywood Posts: 3,157 ✭✭✭✭✭

And just like that the New York Yankees and their $323.1 million payroll are gone. And just like that 33 year old Aaron Judge still has no World Series rings after a 10 year career. Interestingly, for all that money they were outscored 34-19 in the 4 games. Maybe they can spend another $100 million(since MLB apparently won't limit franchises) to figure out how to get to the WS. I for one will be glad not having to hear about the Yankees for the remainder of the playoffs.

Now, if someone could please get rid of the Dodgers!!

Personally, I've always disliked the Dodgers, by far, more than any other MLB team.

Sadly, they've got a 2-1 series lead on my Phillies. Big game today to try and even it up, then hopefully back home to The Bank for the final.

I'd be surprised if the Yankees stick with Boone at this point

You underestimate the value of the Yankees at this time when baseball needs a punching bag to hang. Their team is obnoxious, their management is knuckleheads, their fans are obsessed and their vibe is everything October needs. Nothing more fun than watching them gag on a title run last year. This year we get the Toronto studs and their home run jacket. Yippee. Their home games will be interesting if anything is happening in the hotel windows. Their opponent will either be carrying a spear or a grudge. Everyone will wave cute little towels. Ugh. 😑

and after friday october 10, the seattle mariners once again will be eliminated too , seattle is 3-0 vs skubal this year, I see no way a team can go 4-0 against him in the same year, plus the mariners are the best at coming up short in crunch time.

Well definitely rooting for the Blue Jays/Guardians............... :D

The ALDS-winning Blue Jays have six players who were formerly members of the Guardians' organization:

    Shane Bieber
    Ernie Clement
    Andres Gimenez
    Nathan Lukes
    Anthony Santander
    Myles Straw

I must admit, I haven't seen a post here in the recent past which was wrong about something in so many ways!!

Maybe the Yankees can spend another $100 million on their bullpen. This season they had more heffers than bulls.

Yes, dump the Dodgers. They another team that tries to buy championships.

But it is the players who, primarily, oppose a salary cap in MLB and the owners, primarily, want a salary cap. The lack of a salary cap in MLB hasn't really paid off for those teams who have been willing to pay the luxury tax.

if the tigers would of let skubal throw say 130 pitches and go 9 innings and not a measly 6 innings the tigers would of won. they were up 2 - 1 when skubal came out. just goes to show athletes now a days are not nearly as tough as they were in the 70"s.

I could not be more happy about being wrong about game 5 !!

I am sure you have never predicted the wrong outcome of a game...

But I'll be damned if the owners haven't sold a crapload of tickets, merchandise, sponsorships and broadcast rights to supplement their income.

I like the move and in a familiar way I predict a Cubs victory this evening. I don't see how the Brewers can beat em. Rock solid guarantee... Put your $$$ on the south-siders!

I sit upon a knifes edge undecided on what is worse. Being ignored by Maywood or... in knowing I am being ignored by Maywood.
