What a gorgeous looking coin. Congrats! Great pickup.
Wow - amazing detail to start with, and then somehow preserved in perfect condition! Do you know anything of the provenance?
My current "Box of 20"
Wonderful.
Collector since 1976. On the CU forums here since 2001.
@Bob13's provenance question is the same thing that ran through my head. Something tells me this was part of a notable collection at one point in time. The sharpness of the details is outstanding. This taler has it all - design, strike, patina, originality..... the list goes on.
I am usually so late to viewing and oohing and aahing over Zohar's acquisitions that I feel it's unnecessary to comment, but this one is an exception. Well done, Zohar!
another exceptional coin
