If you went to shows, especially in the Midwest and dealt with Silvertowne over the years, you probably saw or met Jerry at some point.
My father always made sure he would call on Jerry due to his wealth of knowledge. I remember getting impatient as we waited for the line of people waiting to talk to him.
He got married in 2009 to the owner of my favorite LCS in my old hometown which is about 90 minutes away.
Great stories and a wealth of knowledge, as well as a wonderful human being have been lost. His seven year battle with cancer ended 9/26. He never gave up and was fighting until the end.
He will be missed by all those who had the good fortune to know him

    He will be missed.
I frequented their shop in Peoria starting in about 2015. Jerry helped me become the collector that I am today, he was always willing to chat or look over coins and give advice. Many of my best coins have passed through his hands in one way or another, whether purchased from him or something I just brought into the shop for a sort of "show and tell".
His passing will leave a void in the community that will not be possible to fill. Rest in peace.

    Collector, occasional seller

I always enjoyed hearing the stories of the coins/currency he has seen over the years working at Silvertowne then his years at Wendy's. The kind of stuff that most of us never get to lay our eyes on in person.
Looked forward to the display of some of his ancients he would display in the shop at Christmas and the stories that went along with each of the coins.

It has been difficult to watch his decline the last couple of years but I can say that I have NEVER seen someone battle as hard as he did. Most people would have given up long before. As much as he was going through, he was still working in the shop until the last couple weeks. It's going to be hard going in the next time and not seeing him sitting at his desk.

I only dealt with him once, at a coin show in St. Louis, but he impressed me as an honest gentleman.

I dealt with Jerry many times at Wendy’s and he was always patient, friendly and fair to deal with, in my experience.

My condolences to Wendy, the family and the Peoria coin community. He will be missed.

    Tim
