The Cleveland/Detroit/Boston mix has a few curious endings.
--- If Cleveland and Detroit both lose than Cleveland wins the Division and hosts the 3rd WildCard team, the Tigers!! Same result if Cleveland wins and Detroit loses.
--- If Cleveland and Detroit both win than Cleveland wins the Division and hosts the 3rd WildCard, the Red Sox!!
--- If Cleveland loses and Detroit wins than Detroit wins the Division and host the 3rd WildCard, the Indians!!
At least I think that correct.

My late grandpa would be so proud. Since 1948 when he won $10 when he and three other guys tried to predict who'd take the AL flag he was a big time The Artists Formerly Known As The Indians fan. He passed away in 2012 without ever seeing them win the WS again but in 1997 they came so, so close. All this was back in the good ol' days of REAL pennant races (my late wife's Red Sox had a one game playoff in this one and in 1949 played the last two games against New York essentially in the finals of a double elimination tournament; Red Sox needed one win, Yankees had to win both)...not this ridiculous three wild cards per league and no one game pennant/division playoffs anymore in the event of a tie!?
CLEVELAND -- Gavin Williams’ breakout this summer was one of the most important developments for the Guardians on their path to reaching the postseason. Now, the 26-year-old will lead Cleveland as it opens its journey on baseball’s biggest stage.
The Guardians named Williams their Game 1 starter for the American League Wild Card Series on Monday, lining him up to face Tigers ace Tarik Skubal in the opener on Tuesday at Progressive Field.

Winning in these playoffs will require the Bullpen to be lights out, Kwan and Ramirez to lead the charge and good situational hitting by guys like Manzardo, Naylor, Rodriguez, Martinez and Rochio.
If they can do that they at least have a chance.

No, but if the strategy is to get 5-6 innings out of Indian's starters and the game is close I think they can win if the Bullpen pitches the way they have for most of September. That's how we've beaten Skubal.

This is the 4th game in a row Kwan has not had a hit - bad time to go into a slump.
EDIT: Make that one hit!

Tito takes the Reds to the playoffs - pretty cool!

Tigers lose and the Indians win in the 10th to take the Central Division. Pretty amazing.

I think they've beaten Skubal and the Tigers the last two times they faced him.

First time he was pulled at a 1-1 tie. The last time he was rattled after hitting Fry in the face.
