Welcoming back an old friend

I first bought this coin for an exorbitant amount (at the time) is 2014 or so. I loved the color, OGH, and just the eye appeal in general being 10/10. About 4 years ago I sold it when a very strong offer came in. This week I repurchased it from the person I sold to as he is downsizing along with another wonderfully attractive Brazil 960R.

While certainly a common coin as a type and date, completely uncommon in its appeal.

Any others care to share some old friends that came back around?

I’m waiting for @Abuelo to get tired of the REPULICA 8R so I can buy it back!

    Love that! <3

  • While not quite the same. I passed on a coin at the 1995 ANA that Mike Bianco was selling. He was getting out of World coins at the time to put everything into US coins. I bought four (4) German coins from him and they were just super. I passed on a real nice 1862 Frankfurt Thaler in an old NGC 67 slab. It had this candy apple green on the obverse. I passed at the time since I thought it was way too much. I thought about that coins for years. Fast forward January 2007 Heritage sale and the coin was in it. I had to have it. I don't even remember how much Mike wanted for it at the time. Still have it plus the others.
