GTG: 1884-CC DMPL Morgan - Revealed in comments

I'm converting this thread to a GTG thread as the original question was answered. I submitted this for crossover to PCGS from NGC and it failed. I'm curious what everyone would put the grade at. It is DMPL. There is no question about this. This coin has the deepest and best mirrors of pretty much any coin in my collection. So guess what NGC graded it at and what the PCGS should grade it at (if different).

Original post:
On the reverse, are these scratches or die polishing? I was unable to find other examples in Coinfacts with similar marks so I'm leaning toward scratches except they go right up to the devices and aren't like typical scratches or cleaning marks. I don't have good enough eyes to tell if they are incuse or not. I think they are raised but I can't tell for sure. PCGS rejected this one on a crossover so I'm assuming it's because of these marks.
ANSWER: It is most definitely VAM-6. Those are die polish marks.

Die Polish areas look consistent with Vam-6 from what I can tell from the pictures!

Yes indeed! I didn't think to look at VAMs.

Now I can't figure out why it didn't cross. I'm going to change this thread to a GTG thread.

My guess NGC 65DMPL but PCGS liked it better as 64+
    Amazing contrast, by the way!

Since you didn't mention it , I'm going to assume that you submitted it to cross at the same grade?

Polish lines are what I see and I don't think those were a factor for PCGS.

I'll guess that NGC has it at MS66 DMPL and PCGS doesn't agree. I can see PCGS putting a 65 DMPL on it if they even find it to be DMPL.
Sometimes our host can be stingy with crossing from NGC imo.

PS edit - Really nice coin.

I know that I'm going against the grain here, but I'm going with MS64 DMPL. Comparing the chatter on Liberty's face and neck to my MS63, I don't see this one as hugely "better."

    ---- REVEAL!! ---

    OK, it's been long enough...
The coin is NGC MS65+ DMPL. Someone brought up a good point but I didn't know how to convey this without giving away that the current grade had a +. The crossover attempt was for 65 or better, I was OK with losing the +. Having seen enough responses that is a 64 convinces me that it probably does have a little bit too much frost disturbance on Liberty's face and the mark under the eye is probably too severe for 65. I had thought that perhaps the cleanliness of the fields and eye appeal could offset or counter these things. I guess not. I might send it to CAC and see if they'll sticker it although probably not based on the consensus here.

Frosty! CC's in GSA holders are great guides on how original Morgans should look like.
