Is it a blister, or is it a ddo? The world may never know..

It probably is just a plating blister.. (right in the middle of the ear) but just incase its not, you never know… it doesn't collapse with a toothpick!
Cause what if this is a doubled die, and nobody has sent it in because they think its a blister…? I couldn’t imagine how someone wouldnt send that in…
I doubt it lol but i put this here so you can think to look in this area in the future, i really want to be proven wrong!
I dont send my coins in because Kingman AZ looses alot of mail.
Anyways, thanks for looking. If you find/found this, let me know!

If you can find another example with the exact same "bubble", then you will have your answer (that it is not a bubble).
considering the shape, what would it be a double of?
This would be a perfect game show name. Who wants to co-host my new business venture?
"But seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you" Matthew 6:33. Young fellow suffering from Bust Half fever.

Highly probably plating issue. Never seen anything similar and I constantly look at Lincolns live and online.
Have you tried a Q-tip yet?
I did a toothpick and it didnt budge.
Look inside the ear @MsMorrisine, the big bump.
I appreciate the enthusiasm. Lol “ima step right on up!” Lol
i see it
but, considering the shape, what would it be a double of?
Earwax.
Might be some of that ear wax that broke off that landed there when the coin was struck?
Could be an ‘earbud.’ Maybe he was listening to Fleetwood Mac or Mariah Carey’s Christmas song…lol
I’d be hunting the wide A.M for that year . I don’t believe there is a variety for the Denver mint but there is for Philly
There are doubled dies for 1999 D. Coppercoins/doubleddie/varietyvista are sites you should study. Nearly every year and mint mark has at least one variety aka doubleddie
I was a new member here at one time. And at one time I also spam posted pocket change thought had something crazy going on with it. I am aware there are numerous varieties for the Lincoln series as I am with those sites. I am well versed with the varieties both major and non major for the Lincoln’s. I was specifically referring to the wide a.m for that year .
There are plenty of tools and very intelligent members here who can guide and help as collectors
Good luck hunting
How about neither? Why can't it be a die break or gadget? As @MsMorrisine has pointed out, it doesn't match the shape of any nearby feature. Do you know what "ddo" stands for?

Another example of the trendy “head wound” Lincoln cent. A good one—the slug goes in the ear, passes through the coin, and comes out at the steps.
It is the swollen eardrum variety.

Which is less of a medical emergency than the goiter variety.
