That's pretty cool.
He did some amazing medallic work. Much of it was portraiture, but that is the nature of commemorative medals. His other designs are beautiful and quite distinct. One will still notice similarities to other artists of his time such as Adolph Weinman and Paul Manship.
Most folks don’t know that his medallic work was far more extensive than that which he did for coinage. If you like the lightning bolts on this medal, check out the James H. McGraw Award medal or Midland Utilities medal that he did.
Mine is same medal as yours, got thrown off by circular boarder.
I don't think mine is silver as most ebay sellers claim it's silver.
Sourced locally years ago at a show after searching the fleabay for a nice well-preserved example.
They did make some in silver, but those specifically say ".999" on the edge.

Good to know silver examples exist. Thank You !
Mine is not marked 999, says 12th issue on edge which I assume is 12th in a series of medals issued and not 12th made. Prior owner wrote CREATION on box.
Sweet !
May have located silver at fleabay, sadly above my budget:

Wow, that’s neat. Never seen one before.
Fun piece.
According to google, "Fiat Vita" means "Let life be".
U.S. Type Set
"Let there be life."
