Both nations now allow the government to store account holder personal information in a centralized database. Fingerprints, facial biometric data, photographs, passports, nationality, criminal records, and even medical records will be stored in the government database. Participation is not optional.
World Economic Forum is known to experiment it's plans with non-western nations.
I'm not fully comfortable discussing current events but this is likely affecting and will increasingly affect gold and silver demand. If everyone believes his entire wealth might be seized at any moment then why buy CD's and brokerage accounts at all? There could be a macroeconomic buying panic overlain on a microeconomic buying panic coming to your corner coin shop at virtually any moment. Perhaps were getting very very close to currency change. And even if we aren't a buying panic by silver users might still bring it on..

Justin Castreau tried the same crap in Canada on a smaller scale during the Covid scare. I believe it was a dry run to see what they could get away with without extreme public outrage.

Justin Trudeau froze access to bank accounts of the striking truckers in an effort to get them to go home. He failed to do so. But yes, he was a perfect example of a government controlling access to private bank accounts. Central Bank Digital Currencies will provide this evil feature.

Its existence is the abuse.
That's one possible interpretation.
Possible? Did you notice what happened in Canada regarding bank accounts and access to such recently?
But that's kind of the point. Almost all money is already digital and almost all transactions are already digital. Unless you are one of the poor who have no bank accounts, you likely have 5% or less of your assets in cash.
Look at what they did to Russia from long distance even though there are still paper roubles floating around. I'm not sure going fully digital changes much of anything other than increasing efficiency and convenience.
I know someone who still doesn't understand what digital currency is.
