Thanks @semikeycollector and @DisneyFan.
That 1801 dime is so seldom found nice, and the reverse is nearly VF detail, imo.
The 1799 cent is the only stickered VG-8 example (there is one 99/8), and a great example of my thoughts on this topic… I’d far rather have this pleasing low grade ‘99, as opposed to say, a low mint state grade, common variety ‘98, which might be roughly the same spend.
The history and mystique of the ‘99 wins by a mile for me.
Everyone’s take and perspective on collecting is different, nobody is “right”, which IMO helps make this such an interesting hobby.
I'm of the ''in-between" camp. There are coins that are relatively scarce to rare that can be had in reasonable condition with eye appeal. One I was fortunate to get last year was the 1872 S Seated Half (raw) that graded MS63 with a really great look for grade IMHO (lustre really not showing in picture sadly) & not crazy money.
Love that Milled British (1830-1960) Well, just Love coins, period.

Yes, that 1801 dime has an stronger reverse far out of the VG-10 designation.
