Montana Coin Shows?

Why aren't there any coin shows in Montana? There are plenty of gun shows. I haven't seen a coin show advertised out here since probably 2010.

Where in Montana are you? One that comes to mind is the Glendive coin show in the spring.

Close to Billings, I haven't heard mention of the Glendive show in quite a few years even though it pops up on the internet on coinshows.com, there are not any listings associated in Glendive.

A show in Butte would be cool. I would love to see what comes out of the woodwork. I bet there is quite a bit of the rarer 1800's gold sitting in drawers in that area. What is that place, I think it's in Idaho with the 100,000 silver dollars.

I think I read somewhere on the forum a few gun shows had some coins as well up for sale. Not many though. Probably silver dollars. I know many sports card dealers have coins for sale as well.

Clackamas1, you're thinking of Lincoln's 50,000 silver dollar bar in Haugen, Montana. I have been there several years ago. They have mostly Ike Dollars and worn out or whizzed 21M, 1922, & 1923 Peace Dollars. Nothing exciting.
Perhaps back in the 1980's and before they might have had some interesting Morgan Dollars.

Iceberg, here's your opportunity to put on a coin show in Billings. Could be really interesting of what might walk in the door.

Not shabby... friend of mine went a couple of years ago. Said the food and service and offerings were great!

I've found there a few other smaller internet sites that offer shows on there site, might be worth a look 🙂

I stopped at one the other day to see about maybe selling my foreign coins, left kind of disappointed. I have about 2000 coins all flipped, in a 20-pocket sleeve, and in a 3-ring binder, they told me that I would have to unflip everything and they would only buy by weight. Not what I was wanting to hear. I spent too much time putting them all in flips just to have to unflip them all and if the price wasn't what I wanted then I would have to flip them all again. So, I will wait a while until I decide what I want. I'll stop in at some of the other shops to see what they have to say next time I am in Billings.
