A little different perspective: eBay is a good sales tool for me too although I use a broker (airplanenut) to handle everything for me. I don’t have the time, patience, skills or feedback history to do it myself. For a reasonable fee, he lists my items which always seem to find the market for them.
With so many eyeballs on that site, the results are around the expected market value. Some items may close for a little less than expected while some bring much more. It’s an auction after all and you never know what the hammer price will be but the highs and lows even out and I don’t sweat about any single item.

I was talking to a dealer today who was upset because his "make offer to watcher" function was open-ended, so months after he did a "make offer" to potential buyers, one of the people he'd sent the original, now low, offer to bought a gold coin where the "offer" was still active even as he'd raised the price on the 1834 classic $5! So there are quirks on ebay that sellers need to be up on and aware of. He said unless he hears from corporate his lawyer will be contacting them and that they were exposing themselves to a class action. I doubt that's likely.
Yes the offer marketing system is weird. I had a person make an offer a month or so ago that I declined. Fast forward to this week I get a message from him to stop sending them offers if I’m not ready to accept their original offer. Telling me I should make up my mind. Haha. I let them know that eBay must be sending them the offer, because it surely wasn’t me.

Other than a couple small annoyances, eBay had been a great tool for me.
I may have helped you spend a few more dollars on your new purchase, But you did well at the closing price Provided you did not have to pay any taxes.
Very nice addition to any collection.

All purchased on ebay... now in my album. (here's a few, there are many more and not just LC's)

Purchased raw on ebay, then sent in for certification... the 1819/8 was probably my best. Purchased raw for ~$300 and came back AU58.

Purchased in a PCGS XF holder, cracked, lived in my album for a few years... then sent back to our hosts... AU50

Raw ebay purchase... from the same vendor that had the 1819/8. She came back XF45
