A little different perspective: eBay is a good sales tool for me too although I use a broker (airplanenut) to handle everything for me. I don’t have the time, patience, skills or feedback history to do it myself. For a reasonable fee, he lists my items which always seem to find the market for them.
With so many eyeballs on that site, the results are around the expected market value. Some items may close for a little less than expected while some bring much more. It’s an auction after all and you never know what the hammer price will be but the highs and lows even out and I don’t sweat about any single item.

I let them know that eBay must be sending them the offer, because it surely wasn’t me.

Other than a couple small annoyances, eBay had been a great tool for me.
I may have helped you spend a few more dollars on your new purchase, But you did well at the closing price Provided you did not have to pay any taxes.

I got it for $4850….all in…so a really good price. Just bought the OGP with the PRIVY 230 certificate of authenticity off eBay too for $82 ($92 w taxes/shipping) so all together still a pretty good deal. 😉
