It may depend on where the coins are when the auction ends. Coins that are auctioned in Dallas should ship quicker, one would think.

Sometimes they take stuff to major shows for viewing and live auction - that adds time to shipping.

There is no DELETE on the forum.

When the title and first post are scrubbed it just leaves responses with no context that are of no use to anyone.

The purpose of the forum, as far as I am concerned, is to educate not just the OP but everyone who reads the thread.

  • Is there a difference with weekly auctions and major auctions?

Regular customer is 1 to 2 days max.

Define regular? I have been purchasing form them for years but maybe only a few coins per year.

In my experience items that are sold in the first day or two of a major aiction might be shipped from site immediately if you have paid, while items on the last day get sent back to HQ and shipped from there once they return. Otherwise I dont see a major difference between weekly and major.

Its not the frequency, its your total spend.

I would say 4 or more purchases a year.

I think the key to getting super fast checking is to use eCheck for payment.

Ever since I went that way, shipping has been super fast, a few times next day in my hand.

forget about that. That's a lie. it can take 2 to 4 weeks depends on the auction. If they ship in a week I would consider fast. A week is 5 days because we should not count weekend.

Thanks I was just use to items been shipped in a few days but seems like that may have changed (at least for now). Will sit back and wait.

Your status, choice of payment method, and the dollar value of the item can affect the shipping time.

Ive bought 4 things from Heritage this year. None of them too longer than a week to ship. One of them the auction was June 24, and the item was delivered to me by June 28.

That is what I have normally but this time around seems different. Paid before the September long weekend but still has yet to be shipped.

    Status = Order processing

Its possible they have some people out on vacation for the long weekend that may have slowed things. I won something on Tuesday last week that just shipped today.

If yours was before Labor day, give them a call. The customer service people have mostly been helpful in the past when I called.

Wait till you buy more we can check back in a year. If you buy 10 times and have half of time at this speed then you can say they ship less than a week.

I've bought hundreds of things from Heritage over the last decade plus. Look at the screenshot I posted, I have 10 pages of auction invoices.

Its only 4 this year because I cant find anything I need....

Ok good for you. but not for me. I have 13 pages more than 300 invoices. I don’t remember they ever ship in one to 3 days. Again, if they ship in 5 days I would consider they ship fast. Normally is within 5 to 10 days.

I just checked my last three invoices they shipped in 4 to 6 days which is ok. I am not complaining.

What payment method are you using? I do wire transfer or credit card, and on average I have received my items from the previous weeks coin or currency auction before I bid in the next weeks auction. The one longer delay I had was due to a misunderstanding of the way they dealt with e-checks where they held my order for 10 business days for check clearing before starting to process the shipping.

  • jt88jt88 Posts: 3,238 ✭✭✭✭✭

I don’t think payment methods is important at least not in my case. I don’t think they wait for my payment before they ship. I used to pay right away but in the last couple months I started to pay in 5 to 10 days. Sometimes they ship before I pay.

  • jt88jt88 Posts: 3,238 ✭✭✭✭✭

I just want to make this clear. I am not complaining. it doesn’t matter they ship in 5 days or even 10 days. I get used to it and I can wait. But I am pretty sure they don’t ship in 1 to 3 days at least not for me.

Weekly auctions don't send the coins to a major show for lot viewing.

HA is top notch never had an issue with them. They are a great company. I get it they have so many packages to ship so sometimes it can take more time than usual.
