I was thinking today, with the 250th Anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence coming up, how cool it would be for one year to bring back old designs for circulation coins.
Unfortunately with price of silver, the silver issues would have to be clad but.....
2026 Indian head cent
2026 Buffalo nickel
2026 Mercury dime
2026 Standing Liberty Quarter
2026 Walking Liberty Half
2026 mini Morgan dollar
I just think this would be a neat idea.

I think it would be cool and get a lot of attention if they made circulating clad examples of all previous series like Barber, busts, seated in addition to the series you listed.

I don't know, the idea of a walking liberty half dollar being struck in clad makes me nauseous.
I can understand seasoned collectors feeling less accepting of clad reproductions however, I think the general public being exposed to dramatically different retro coins would be educational and get new and younger attention.
It could genuinely inspire new generations of collectors. If it was all clad for circulation issues the coins would be inexpensive and accessible to the general public.

Hasn't the mint said after 2026, all the regular obverses will be returning?
Why not shake it up a bit and antagonize @regulated with a 250th anniversary “Commemorative” of his favorite coin!
