1889 Canadian 5 Cent - grade?

I realize you can only tell so much from a picture. Educated guesses are welcome!

Collector of Victoria, Edward VII, George V and George VI Canadian; and most anything U.S. I am currently looking for early Lincolns, raw in XF or better.

    From the photo, I would say EF40.
    A soaking for 24 hours might remove
    what appears to be dirt on your coin.
    It wouldn’t hurt in any case.

    Nice example. Definitely Extra Fine maybe AU depending on underlying lustre.

    I don't know why someone would feel the need to remove dirt from a circulated, nearly 150-year old silver coin. In my opinion, that is terrible advice unless you are attempting to produce a dead-surfaced, white, circulated silver coin that would look out of place for most collectors.

    I'd say XF+ for sure, but could be AU.

    Looks AU to me. I think is covered with toning and not “dirt”. If an acetone soak doesn’t remove it then leave it be.
