Dollar US 1802

Hi, folks. What do you think about condition and value of the coin? I've bought it recently and later I'll let you know the price and slab grade. So I'm glad having this one, piece of American history. Hi from Russia, i hope a good part of it.
Peace.

VF Details, cleaned. Up to ~2k ish perhaps?
The hairlines alone likely wouldn't preclude a straight grade, but that rim is a bit too much for me. The graders often try to keep it simple these days, so the label will likely read "cleaned" instead of "damage" or "rim damage".

I will guess vg10
I agree with @PeakRarities, F details.
15-20 was the range in my head but I was being generous. With a second look I could even see a lower, but I didn’t put much effort into the number after it went “details” on my scale.

I like it at F Details. I've certainly seen worse in straight graded holders so I could see this grading.

I recommend that you hold coins by the edges, not as shown in your hand in the last two pictures. Holding them as you did, will result in fingerprints, which can't alwys be removed and can lower the value of the coins.
If the coin were to receive a grade of Fine details (cleaned or scratched) it would probaby be worth in the $1200-$1400 range, or roughly $1800-$2200 for a staight grade of F12.

Nice addition.
While showing sales of F in $2100 range in last year, this 02/1 might bring interest in an auction and gain higher bids(if straight grade of F received).

It appears to be a 1802/1 over date which would up the value a bit. 😉
Fine 12!
I wouldn’t mind if the rim dings were toned in, but it bothers me when its fresh sliver hits on a heavily patinated coin. I’m sure we’ve all admittedly seen much worse, the coin has the circam look that sells quickly.

Thanks everybody. I paid $1k for the coin. And it had a slab. I understand everything about slabs but don't like it for myself. Yes, the rim has some damage but there wasn't any tab, only sctatch - both edges are good, no grinding, no right position of the damage to be something like medal. So... Yes, grade was f 10. In my opinion condition is some better, about f15...vf20 but i didn't watch the damage in slab. So i think it's a good purchase. There's not many these coins in my country.

Peace.
That was a good purchase for the price paid.

Now it's the second coin of the type. 1799 coin is repaired but I'm glad to have it...

Peace.
@Sergey, that was a great purchase for 1k and you are already in the green on that coin. I thought you were going to send it to our hosts, but NGC can be a hair more forgiving with rims and hairlines, but I am fine with it as a 10 because they built it into the grade.
02/1s can come a bit flat on the obverse, but this coin was throwing me off a bit because the reverse looked 15/20ish but the obverse 10/12ish. Theres a chance someone might have "helped" the obverse wear down to get rid of some scratches, but thats an easily salable coin for many collectors looking for a fairly wholesome coin that don't want to sell plasma to afford.
Your 1799- If I recall correctly, did it have a big hole right there? I'm not sure who did the body work on it, but now that theres at least some metal there, you could probably fill it in with some clay/dirt or something of the like if it made you en joy it more. The coin obviously won't deceive anyone, but this is one of the rare instances where I'm not against coin doctoring entirely as long as it's strictly for your own enjoyment. Thanks for showing us!
