While I typically like toners, that has a lot of dark

Not in my opinion. Looks like a 62 that got a major bump for the color.

When it comes to toners its a very individual thing. I like that Morgan because its probably never been dipped. I dont like the eye appeal of the coin at all. It looks messy. That's my opinion. Others may totally disagree and that's fine.

Not liking the PCGS photos, too dark and splotchy for above average. Wish the grade would be higher also and agree looks like a toning bump. If the price is right, not a bad purchase.

It’s a cool pattern with nice eye appeal. I would not consider it a coin I would want to pay a big toning premium for though (I could see it still going high if two people really want it).

"Eye appeal," is, of course, a matter of personal taste.

Acknowledging that I'm in the minority, it's very rare that I much like a heavily-toned silver coin, and this is no exception. To me, it has very low eye appeal, compared to blast white.

Even if I liked toned coins, generally, I don't like the blotchiness of that one.

    YMMV

On matters such as this i just agree with whatever @U1chicago says. saves me a lot of thinking and I am much more likely to be right. James

"What do you think? Ablove average eye appeal or not?"

To me, the coin is attrtactive with above average (though not excellent) eye-appeal. That's despite some dareker and splotchy areas. And it looks accurately graded to me.

It's a bit scuffy but any Morgan with character, such as this one- deserves consideration.

It sold for 247.50 with the fee, which seems fair to me. That’s close to 3x of a generic untoned example in this date and grade. I still would pass (as I did in the auction) since it does not appeal to me at that price level but I have no issue with what it sold for.

Tons of facial gashes. Would not buy.

Quite attractive to me. I like the fact that the cheek is exposed and not toned to heck and back. Color is okay, not spectacular but it's still not ugly.

I'd own and keep it for sure.

    Neutral

Very common date with great eye appeal relegates this one to neutral.

I think GC and its consignors would benefit from having the GreatPhoto picture as the primary image. Depending on screen resolution, some folks might not even notice the additional photos below the fold.

I don't actually care for it.

Meh, but that's if the photo is accurately representing the color correctly which I have my doubts

Why do you have doubts about the color being portrayed accurately?

GC has a note/icon next to each coin that has a GreatPhoto on the search results page. So it’s fairly easy to tell which coins will have the photo.

Why do you have doubts about the color being portrayed accurately?

Because I have numerous toned classic coins and few compare exactly to in hand appearance especially when they are lustrous and multi toned such as this one.

The toning adds slightly to the eye-appeal in my opinion.

Show me a capped-bust half-dollar with comparable color and my opinion would elevate substantially just in terms of aesthetics.

I have one with similar toning to this, also primarily on the obverse. It is ANACS 63 and I got it at a local coin shop for $80. Although I can't say that this type of toning is unattractive, I just don't think it's rare or vibrant enough to be worth such a premium.
