After researching those tubes, I started googling and found an article by coin world. Apparently, this is a very recent development as they’re still “pre-sale” at APMEX.

Here’s the article:

Have any of you guys seen this? Has anybody bought any of these? I’m a sucker. I already bought one of the 3 ounce bars. :D

I’m kind of looking forward to this one!
Thankfully, they’re not doing too many different items. Only four different categories that article covers it all, but this is the only “poured“ bar they’re making and that’s pretty cool. I hate it when they overdo stuff!

Those poured bars are going to be a very expensive lesson for a lot of inexperienced/rash buyers

You are correct on that if anyone’s buying this as “stacking silver“ they are going to be disappointed. I’m just buying one because I’m an Engelhard nut…

They also have the 1/10 ounce gold prospector for over $400. I guess that’s not terrible but I’m a little reluctant…

But I’m a sucker for the poured stuff even when it’s new.

Which is why checking the forum before heading out to mow just cost me $208.28...

Oh - plus $115 for the Dan Carr 13 Steps Escher silver coin. Expensive day off...

    Ha! That’s awesome!
Definitely post those on this thread if you think about it when you get them…

My brother and two different friends have bought the 3 ounce bar in the last 24 hours so yes, this stuff is definitely contagious! :D

I have several hundred Engelhardt 1oz and 10 oz bars. Also many prospector rounds and a few 100 oz bars. Tell .e what your looking for and I'll see if I have it! Ba k in the day I bought nothing but them!

I saw those a couple of weeks ago. They look really cool.
Much cheaper alternative to the original 3 oz. pours.

I’m good right now, but I appreciate the offer!

I typically just get what comes across my path, working in a B&M. I do see some neat stuff from time to time…

I did cave and get the 1/10 ounce gold remake…
Now I just need some therapy. :D

    I prefer the originals.

    Those are absolutely splendid!

Years ago, I got one for the normal silver price, back in 2011 at the time they were bringing about $100 an ounce, held it for a year or two and then let it go in a big trade and basically just traded as 3 ounces of silver… 😬

I’ve kicked myself ever since! Should I ever be fortunate enough to find an original again, this time, I will keep it until my final day!

Asheland, I am glad you like those 3 oz examples. I was fortunate to get interested in older poured Engelhard bars around 2009-2010 after intending in 2009 to just stack silver. Most of my better pieces date to that time. I regret not buying more agressively back then as many pieces were selling for not much more that the then current spot price. Some of the unusual items pictured at Allengelhard.com were ebay items I bid on around 2011 but I failed to win by not bidding more aggresively.

Most of the 3 oz bars in my photo were $200 each or thereabouts. I have not purchased anything of this sort for 10 years or more; I cannot wrap my mind around recent sold prices on ebay for even fairly common poured 10 oz Engelhard bars.

Perhaps the newly re-issued vintage types will further spur interest in the classic originals.

Even at 1 or 2 bars that would be something new or different in ones collection
