Picked up a nice Rick Springfield’s 1906 $5 Liberty in MS-67 I lost to him back in the day.

But I did not realize it now has so many stickers!

I do not even know about the PQ sticker? Not a multiple sticker wannabe. When I viewed the coin I did not study the PCGS tag.

Crack it and send to CACG … guaranteed 66/66+

Tough to get CACG to plus grade any superb coin. Only successful on one of many submissions so far.

    Take off the PQ sticker

You might as well take off the stacks bowers sticker also, unless you plan to resell thru them down the road, the other companies remove those

    Beautiful coin.
At least it's still visible in the 'sticker-laden' slab !

@oreville . Very nice coin. I don't see anything about Rick under all those stickers. Did the seller provide the provenance? James

This coin was auctioned by StacksBowers as part of the Rick Soringfield sale.

Great coin! I agree with losing the PQ and CMQ stickers. If you later sell it through SB, they'll put the CMQ sticker back on.

No one has told me what the PQ sticker represents. I never saw it before? My very first PQ as well as the square CMQ sticker I ever had to deal with. I do not even like the PCGS gold sticker.

Stickers aren’t a problem, crack it out.

In all seriousness, I would keep the 3 stickers. I think it’s somewhat cool and there is no need to remove any. If an auction house wants to remove it during a sale, it can be done at that time.

I am not a big collector of $10 Liberties so I only wanted one MS-67 as my type coin. I stick to $20 Libs and Saints.

I know this coin as it has this tiny spot at the top of the obverse and also inside the 0 of the date. They do not bother me. I call them markers.

    Oops. Hope you weren't expecting a $10 as that is a $5.

On a different point, if it were my coin I would leave all the stickers on just for the historical record and humor of it. If only Eagle Eye could sticker it too. Decades from now it might be collected like a white PCGS or black NGC holder with people horrified that a sticker was removed.

I meant to type $10 or $5 Liberties. Yes, i understand the humor value but prefer humor on a very common inexpensive coin.

    NICE coin!!

I know it seems funny but the stickers don't obscure the view of the coin nor the PCGS info (grade/date/mm/denom/cert #, etc.)

So, I would consider all the stickers to be an asset/benefit.

    Cool Pedigree/Provenance, too!!

Beautiful example, good point re the markers.
Those other 2 stickers are a distraction for me, but to be honest I am blown away that you missed looking at the slab itself as you mentioned, and bought it for the coin that it is, count me as impressed.

The gold shield holders are the best in the industry in my opinion. Those stickers don’t bother me at all. The coin stands on its own merit. It’s a beauty.

I never understood the real purpose of the PCGS gold shield either. It did not denote a higher grade version of the non gold shield on the PCGS graded slab.
