This thread must be timed for the long weekend🫢
No opinion, but this one shows promise.
@FlyingAl Grading - A
This has to be the worst poll this forum has ever seen.

How so? Anything positive to add? Just trying to get some keys tapping over the weekend. J.P.
can't last long on tuesday
plus it's a public pll
PLL?
POLL?
There is a way to reply anonymously. I am interested to find out what board members think. I assume most everyone would. Rail or praise.
Listen, I am grounded for the next few days with a minor medical condition. I rarely engage on these boards and would like to get a buzz going. If it's not your cup of tea to rap with a guy with 50 years in the biz, move on then. Otherwise hit me with your best shot. J.P.
can sympathize i've been sick a few days now. about all i can do the past few months has been this due to some kind of brain fog(no covid ever)
I’d be around a B for each one…some used to be A but customer service or extended grading times has knocked them back one.
All right, I'll get this party started

As always, my personal experience and continued high opinion and respect to our host.
I clicked on one only just to see how the poll worked. I’m about coins.
I'm not quite sure I've done it correctly either. My first. J.P.
I appreciate the effort...but it is ludicrously complex and unintelligible.

Your poll is too messy, Should have simplified it.
SEGS should be E all the way across. They are NO LONGER a feasible or even remotely authentic grading service as of several years ago. Do a google search for "SEGS KDC NJ" and youll find plenty of supporting info.

One, it violated the forum rules by asking us to potentially trash a TPG.
Also "CAC" is not a "grading service".
But, mostly, it's NOT A POLL!

You haven't. You created a poll that allows you to choose a grading service not rate them.

I disagree. The "poll" is very simple. It allows you to choose a single grading service. Of course the question is different than the poll...

PCGS or NGC only for me! If it has a CAC sticker, that’s a bonus!!
ANACS-C
CACG-A, E &X (too strict and overpriced and unfeasible for my NGC registry set).
NGC-B
PCGS-B
ICG-D
CAC 2007-2022-A

I expect a $100 Visa gift card for taking any poll requiring more than 50 answers.

I predict the results will be skewed by voters misintrepreting the ranking system because of the complexity the instructions. It happens frequently where I work where we sometimes do panel testing of new flavored chewable dietary supplements when someone thinks a 1 is the best and 5 is the worst, but it’s really supposed to be 5 is the best and 1 is the worst and it makes the results skewed.
My preferences for slabs is PCGS, older is cooler and the coin has already stabilized in terms of any amateur restoration/conservation efforts by the submitter that was done incorrectly (the coin already would have “turned bad” by now if they attempted to doctor it), but newer PCGS that has an appealing Trueview and chip is also cool but then you gotta look more carefully for any “tells” indicating amateur restoration. Next is NGC for me, followed by old ANACS. Any others I would just go by the coin and do my own assessment and ignore the grade, except for CACg. For CACg, I only ever purchased 1 and then I cracked it out and put the coin into an album. I trusted the CACg and also wouldn’t feel the need to over-examine for amateur doctoring, but I’m too heavily invested in PCGS and NGC mentally and for my Registry sets, and I’m comfortable in purchasing even raw coins using my own judgement, so don’t feel much motivation to want to pay extra for the convenience of not having to assess the coin myself (which I believe is CACg’s greatest benefit, as in collectors know CACg is stricter for screening out potential problem coins).

I'm glad that you used the teacher grading of our current school systems.
how r we suposed to do et with da pol
God comes first in everything I do. I’m dedicated to serving Him with my whole life. Coin collecting is just a hobby—but even in that, I seek to honor Him. ✝️
it's a poll. opinions sought from multiple people
The most important thing about the larger TPG’s for me at least is making sure that the coin is genuine. As far as grading goes, I get it that grading is not an exact science, but clearly there is inconsistency with the graders when I read that people send in coins multiple times in order to get it in the “right holder”. Years ago a guy offered me a graded MS-66 1922 Peace dollar. It was graded by one of the big boys. He got upset with me when told him that I’m not interested in the coin after I pointed out the one inch long tooling along the outline of the eagles back. His argument was that it has to be a 66 because that was the grade on the holder. I couldn’t sell it in clear conscience because of it.
i have a preference for moderns, but it's different than classics. i don't like one for dmpl/pl and can/dcam designations. so, there's that for grading accuracy
Speaking only for myself, it is not a good poll simply because no objective criteria are given for grading them.
Different people like different things in a TPG.
I voted when I saw @jmlanzaf had voted too, so now he can no longer claim that nobody ever agrees with him on the forum.

Lol.
I also posted a coin this week. I thought of you when I did it because you say I never do.

What i meant is that it's not a forum poll because it's not using the polling option.

@jmlanzaf posting a coin on the PCGS forums was most certainly NOT on my 2025 bingo card...
Wrong forum
Yes. Which is why I rarely post coins on the forum...

I was just channeling my inner @jmlanzaf . I'll let it slide this time... just don't let it happen again.
Lol. The only "wrong forum" posts i ever comment on are the BST ones.

The joke was more about how you can be quick to point out mistakes, which is actually a good thing here. I sorta see you like a direct and rough around the edges version of @MFeld . Sorry if I upset you, that wasn't my intention.
I'm not upset. I took your comments as being good natured.
