Too bad the coin forum doesn't have a thread of the year award(TOYA).

I would certainly nominate this thread for such an honor.

Tough to say. I only really use maple syrup in lieu of simple syrup in an Old Fashioned. I’m more concerned with the flavor of Kentucky bourbon in this circumstance.

Say gang, what would be a good coin to commemorate this event?

You probably didn't come in through Ellis Island but figuratively speaking this might be appropriate for the occassion.

I am not skilled at pictures but wish you well. My mother came from Bohemia many years ago. I guess her coin would have been a 1929. I hope you find a coin that pleases and comemmorates this event for you. James

    Phil,
Did you have to give up your Canadian citizenship? or can you be duel? Serious question from someone who has a granddaughter in Thailand.

No, I don't have to give up my Canadian citizenship. The US allows dual citizenship.

    Hi Phil,

It is a big deal and takes quite a bit of time, effort and patience for any immigrant to become a citizen. And you're lucky. Only I think since the 1970s or 1980s did the U.S. allow immigrants to retain the citizenship of their country of origin.

Congrats!!!! The very best numismatic photographers end up with US passports………………….. ;)

FWIW, my wife is a citizen of 3 countries, US the last one and she did not have to give up the other 2.
