    Besides Captain Jack Sparrow? No.

    I'm sure that quite a few forum members know a good deal about at least some shipwreck coins. But your question is rather broad.

    I asked a couple friends of mine.

    What little I know is that "shipwreck effect" is an identifiable condition, and unless it's a euphemism for "damage", I think it is noted on a slab but does not necessarily prevent a straight grade.

    I think the "effect" may be from sand and maybe water that gently affect the coin's surface without causing scratches.

    But clearly I have more to learn about it, so any new information is welcome. :)
