If you wanted to sell your dansco album coins and collections....

What would be the best place to do it? Considering consolidating my collection down a bit.

BST here and Ebay, the BST is easier and less costly, but you have a bigger audience on Ebay. Selling directly to a dealer is also an option, quick but far less financial return.

I have found selling larger groups like a set in dansco can be a little more difficult and can realize a much lower total sale price as a lot, compared to selling individually (which is time consuming and can get tedious) but can get to a higher total sale price.

Results vary, especially with the material.

That's a solid point. A good compromise to breaking everything up would be to pull out the key dates and sell those individually. Then sell the rest with the album.

I often purchase albums full or partly full, and after I have several, I like to cherry-pick the ones that have a thick skin but no terminal corrosion, and use them to put together in mint state Wayte Raymond albums to end up with killer vintage albums with thick enough skin to resist damage from the acidic cardboard. So I like them whole and complete as possible, but will also be interested in ones with a bunch missing but only at a discount.

Dansco albums usually have many raw coins with various values for each coin.

There are many smaller auction houses that sell mainly coins/currency on the hibid platform, proxibid platform, or left one of these and started their own auction website. They all have different consignment terms, picture taking ability, location and results. I have bought from these but no experience consigning yet. I am in similar situation as you and have an accumulation that likes gold and silver values going up.

If pressed - I would want to liquidate them quickly.

Auction them off and then buy investment grade PCGS coins. Or blow them out at a coin shop.

    Otherwise just keep them.
