Absolutely wonderful $50. Humbert “slug”. I can remember a dealer that I had done business with in the ‘80’s, putting a raw example into my hands to see my reaction. And what do you think that was? Overwhelming! Congrats, it’s a beauty! Zack.
Is a half dime a different denomination than a nickel? Different metal and size. Does that mean a Sacagawea is a different denomination than a Morgan? I would think they are the same denomination. Thus, a half dime is not an obsolete denomination.

I had the same thought when I saw that $50 gold slug since the AGEs currently being produced are also $50 gold coins, but I didn't want to split hairs since we have already a couple of others here who are quite adept at splitting hairs. Also, I like looking at pics of cool coins even though I can't afford many of them.

In all seriousness, I plan on selling my collection in five years, the year I turn 80 (if I make it that long, God willing).

I had a similar thought, but I’m now 4 months from 80 and still having fun with my collection. I have been doing some house cleaning though and that will probably accelerate with time. Trying to do the smart thing for the heirs.

I'm just a kid of 70. My Mom is 92 and still walks daily, rides her stationary bike, and live in her own 2 story. I hope that you both last a very long and healthy time and are able to continue enjoying your coins and other favorite activities!

NICE!
Steve, I feel so bad that you have so many marginal coins. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I'm betting that you throw aways would be too good for my collection.
Thank you for your kind words!
