Neil Armstrong never flew on any of the Shuttles, having retired some 15 years before the first launch of Columbia.

#2 - The photo was taken around 1969 because he is wearing an Apollo era spacesuit. For the record, it was Apollo 11.
The seller modified the description, title, bid and BIN prices today, though he did have it listed before the tragedy. Neil Armstrong has absolutely NOTHING to do with the Shuttle, and this guy knows it (he sells space memorabila constantly on eBay)

At this point in space exploration, we are still infants. Of course, the budget NASA is alloted doesn't help. I have always been a strong supporter of the space program because I truly believe that at some point in the future, the knowledge gained will save this planet or at the very least, the human race.
I could go on and on, but I won't bother because this board is for coins, not space.
However, if people wish to buy them, why not. A fool and his money are soon parted.
Sort of related, I am also totally against ebay or Yahoo putting a moratorium or preventing the sale of certain items. Although they did not do it this time with the shuttle, they did with the WTC tragedy. There was also a 7 days wait for Dale Earnhart souvenirs.
A few years ago they stopped my auction of someNazi items I collected during the war. The "souvenirs" held too many bad memories so out they went. Ebay was too slow in stopping the auctions because I had a flood of inquiries after theur bids were cancelled and sold outside of ebay. Preventing the sale would have accomplished nothing. Politically correct is plain stupid sometimes. Do we really want to bury the truth of WW2?
