Character concerns though… right? Unless you listen to BB21 no one thought he didn’t project at rd 1-2 talent at QB but the concerns were his character and the drama that might surround him. While part of that might spin as the showtime brand the kid does seem immature.
Regarding Jacksonville I think their defense is getting credit it has yet to earn.
No doubt drama was an issue, pre draft did he get into any trouble though? I really didn't follow him much until draft day but for sure he was projected to be #1 for awhile on my Draft Kings betting app
I remember hearing talk from guys that cover the NFL saying that Shedeur went into some of his pre-draft interviews with a sense of an entitlement and that he really rubbed teams the wrong way with how he handled answering their questions. Sort of like he was doing them a favor by being there and not the other way around.
Then after each interview, someone connected with these pre-draft interviews made sure that word got out that this was how Sanders was comporting himself to teams and at that point it wasn't really surprising that it all spiraled out of control like it did.
I'd say that perhaps every NFL hall of fame player, especially on offense, wants to be coached and coached hard. They want to learn, and grow in their chosen profession to help them win football games and make good money. Yes some hall of fame players and coaches got into arguments, but i doubt if that was ever a large percentage of the time.
While Sanders it seems, almost had the attitude that he would come into the NFL, and he would teach the coaches how to play the game. 😆
Sanders' performance on Friday was nothing spectacular. He made a couple of nice throws, seemed to demonstrate that he could throw running to his right. He also got caught from behind by two DL's which makes me wonder how fast he is. I'm sure he didn't expect that to happen.
What sticks with most is this: probably half of the players on the field for that game will eventually be cut in the next three weeks.

But the best part is they will probably
get much more out of him than out of that ridiculously stupid and wasted 3rd round pick with Gabriel lol
JMHO, Dillon Gabriel is a very talented QB, he is just too short to be seriously considered as an NFL QB. As far as talent, I view him as past Sanders but the height issue can't be changed. Sanders is young so he can be coached to be a better player and with experience will eclipse Gabriel.

It just begs the question as to WTH were the Browns thinking grabbing him at 3?
Obviously they didn't know about the Judkins situation but had they spent that pick on another player they might be in a better situation
In Browns camp you got Flacco who is what 82 years old now?
Picket who is HORRIBLE
Gabriel
Huntley?
Sanders

My 2 mils (2/10 of one cent) prediction about Sanders. If he has a good upcoming game, he makes the team. But a bad game. and it's bye-bye Shedeur.
There is zero. point zero chance Sanders will not make the team.
I'm saying it now that Sanders will.be the starting QB by week 4 or 5 if he isn't out of camp.
I believe that Sanders will be the steal.of the draft regarding QB's drafted after round 1

I just saw if Sanders ever does start a regular season NFL game, the bookies over/under for number of interceptions is 12, same as his jersey.
Before you get too excited. I checked. It’s not the same blaze from American Gladiators.
I have no desire to see a male cheerleader but I'd rather that than have him step into the boxing/MMA ring against a woman
I did a little research and it seems there are now 13 NFL teams with male cheerleaders.
I also learned that 7 teams (8 if you include GB which does not have a cheer squad, but does bring in different collegiate squads on game days) do not have cheerleaders at all. GB has not had a cheer squad since 1988. So these 8 teams seem the most normal to me and kudos to the Giants for never having cheerleaders. Bravo!
I don't ever watch cheer leading intentionally so I was assuming most NFL season ticket holders were there for the football - rather than the pom-puns.
Shedeur Sanders suffered an oblique injury today in a joint practice with the Philadelphia Eagles. What's starting to become clear is that maybe the Browns aren't such idiots for having all those QB's on the roster. That's three down, two hammy's and the oblique. No mention yet if the Sanders injury is a strain or a tear but I can't see how he can perform with that injury.
Looks like Flacco and Huntley might see some playing time this weekend.
"Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety," --- Benjamin Franklin
They most likely play Tyler Huntley with Flacco ready. Dillon Gabriel is back on the practice field but I doubt that he’s ready and/or that the Browns would risk playing him.
"Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety," --- Benjamin Franklin
Adding insult to injury over everything going on within the Browns QB depth chart is they're likely going to be stuck with Watson's money hanging over the team until the 2027 season has ended. I just did a quick search to see how bad it was and these were their three options regarding outright releasing him. 2025: Releasing Watson before June 1st would result in a $172.3 million dead cap hit.
2026: If released after June 1st, the dead money is split, with $81.6 million hitting the 2026 cap.
2027: The remaining $53.7 million dead cap hit would apply to the 2027 season.
So if they cut him at this time next year they'll still have his 135M on their books until the 2028 league year begins.
If they could somehow turn Shedeur into a starting QB making 5th round rookie contract money during that time would probably be the best possible outcome for offsetting some of the Watson debacle.
The trouble with the Watson contract isn’t the money, it’s the fact that the stink of it all just lingers. I suspect it will linger for a long time and the best thing Haslam could do is payoff Watson so everyone can start forgetting about the trade

That's pretty much the exact point that I was trying to make in my previous comment. Sure, Haslam can payoff Watson to make him go away but the only thing that lingers beyond his departure is his dead money on their books until the 2028 new league year starts.
There is absolutely no way of getting around that part other than paying his full 172M now, which would never happen when the NFL's salary cap for 2025 is 279M to pay everyone.
So it means that the next earliest date to release him would be post-June 1st in 2026 and that leaves Cleveland paying dead cap hits of 83 & 53M for the 2026 & 2027 seasons.
I know it must be a huge pita as a Browns fan to keep hearing about how bad that whole Desean Watson situation has been but until his money is entirely off of their books, its still going to be a topic of conversation surrounding the team.
Again, his dead money is going to linger around long after he leaves the state of Ohio, its just inevitable at this point.
I watched "Bull Durham" yesterday. Susan Sarandon has a line in her introductory narrative where she says something like "Bad trades are a part of baseball, I mean who can forget Frank Robinson for Milt Pappas, for God's sake!!"
Granted, it wasn't a trade to get Watson but it'll certainly go down as one of the worst signings in the annals of the NFL.

From the pictures of the faces of the 32 QBs, the only ones that I think have handsome mugs are #s 1, 4, 7 and 28.
At the other end of the spectrum, #s 16 and 31 are in WOOF-WOOF territory.
As for the QB with the eyes most similar the guy who killed the four Idaho college students he is #25.
I wonder how our wives, girlfriends, mothers, sisters, etc. would rank the 32 QBs?

Maybe the Browns should have drafted a player who graduated with a degree in physical therapy.
Even If the guy couldn't play at a NFL level, at least they could use him to help the other players rehab.
Guys I'm saying it again that like it or not Sanders will be starting for the Browns by week 3 or 4 maybe week 5
I'm fully backing this statement and will 100% own it if I'm wrong
I saw an ad today in The Plain Dealer:

Cleveland Browns Quinshon Judkins Not Facing Charges

Browns rookie Quinshon Judkins won't face charges after an alleged domestic battery incident.
The accusation stems from an altercation in a vehicle that occurred in July.
Florida prosecutors cited no witnesses or video showing the woman without visible injuries, despite her sharing photos and a 911 call.

No charges filed or any witnesses or video would make it tough for them to discipline him on something that was not conclusive ie charged with.
