Rattler Cert Number Question

Can anyone tell me the approximate date a coin in a rattler holder with cert number 61138XX was graded? The flip appears to be off white in color. My understanding is that the earliest rattler flips bear a cert number beginning with 108XXX. Thanks in advance.

I can't tell you when the coin was certified, but will just guess that the cert has either faded over time and/or has UV sun damage to the paper.

The best you can do is go to the PCGS Coin Facts site and find your slab in the "Museum of Coin Holders" which will give you a date range of when your slab was used.

With that certification number, your coin is in a PCGS Gen 1.2 holder. They were used from February 1986 through September 1989. This website is an excellent resource:

My understanding on Ratts is that after the 108**** the prefix selection was random and has no identifiable way to determine production time any more exact than 1986-1989.

Thanks, everyone. The coin I was looking at appeared to have an off white flip but was likely the result of light discoloration as TomB surmised since it was no longer green.
