Is anyone familiar with coin dealers in St. Lucie County, Florida?

OnlyGoldIsMoneyOnlyGoldIsMoney Posts: 3,428 ✭✭✭✭✭

I am trying to help a friend looking for an bricks and mortar coin shop in St. Lucie County. Fort Pierce is the County seat.

Any suggestions that I can pass on to my friend residing in Florida would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

West Bay Trading in Vero Beach has a B&M, off the top of my head, that’s the closest. But there are quite a few dealers in FL.
Not knowing your friend’s goal, the Melbourne coin show is this Sunday. He can meet a number of FL dealers there.

Best to drive a little further to Boynton Beach FL and see Dan at Peak Rarities. He is the best and really honest. A former collector.

Thank you Oreville. I will pass that on to my friend.

@PeakRarities is more than a good coin dealer. He really loves coins and his passion is evident. He is one of the greatest if not the greatest in the business.

God comes first in everything I do. I’m dedicated to serving Him with my whole life. Coin collecting is just a hobby—but even in that, I seek to honor Him. ✝️

I like Dan, but I'm not sure he's a traditional B&M for all collectors. It might help if we new what the OP's friend actually collects.

That’s why I pointed him to West Bay. I assumed someone looking for an actual B&M was looking for a place to buy and sell bullion, junk silver, raw “collector” coins, Morgan dollars, generic slabs, etc, which is what they do, I know them from shows, and they have a good reputation.

I like Dan too, and a great guy to talk to, but I consider myself a fairly advanced collector, and he’s way out of my league.

I appreciate the referral @oreville, but @jmlanzaf and @Walkerguy21D are giving sound advice. I do not own a traditional B&M, and operate by appointment only. I have an office suite to conduct business, and most of my inventory is 4 figures and up. I typically stock some generic gold and silver and can handle any size bullion transaction, and I can order anything with advance notice. Generally will refer business under a minimum value to another local shop because I'm not in the office every day, but I encourage potential customers to text/email me pictures first if they'd like to sell something, which screens out all of the Sacajawea and bicentennial Ike inquiries :) .

Is it true PeakR has $1000 and $5000 junk boxes?

jmlanzaf, my friend has some silver and gold purchased from a PM retailer perhaps 10 years or more ago. That retailer is still in business and I confirmed they are reputable. He would like to visit a B&M within his easy driving range where he can purchase more PM's and to verify that his current stack is genuine. Based on proximity to his Florida residence I recommended that he visit both West Bay Trading and Peak Rarities.

Perhaps he will transition into coin collecting and not just PM stacking.

    Nothing wrong with just stacking.
