Now this was a surprise!

A new coin chop opening in my town! I stopped by to introduce myself and thanked them for opening the shop which was not yet stocked but I told them I will be back.

Lucky you. I live in a numismatic backwater.
This looks like a fun and pleasant shop once it is completely opened.
It takes courage to open a brick and mortar these days as so much business is done online and at shows.
That's cool. Wish one would open in this area, some day
Cool. You are so lucky. james
In my experience, few coin shops have anything out to look at. It's all stored in the back and only brought out by special request. Ruins the fun for me.

Maybe you will luck out and find a treasure or two once fully stocked. Most likely the owner is hoping for walk ins with material to sell and getting in on the bullion trade.

Me too.....Closest shop is on the other side of the state in Marietta. We had one closer, but it closed during Covid. There is a pawn shop nearby that usually has decent prices on their stuff they take in (usually low value stuff).
I have to drive 30 miles to a coin shop. There used to be coin shops closer, but they seem to be closed. Oh well, that is the way it is.

I used to go to Robinsons Coins in Marietta but he's not open everyday and it's a nightmare to try to find free parking around there. What pawn shop are you talking about that has coins? My local shops, in Douglasville, sometimes have silver but always priced higher than anywhere else. Would love to find a shop that had some browseable coins in the cases.
I visited Robinsons quite often when I lived over in Douglasville. The pawn shop I check from time to time is in Oakwood GA (I live in Flowery Branch). I haven't been by there in a while, so I'm not sure if his prices have changed since silver has gone up.
