Hello. I wanted a coin minted 100 years before I was born. I am not that knowledgeable on $1 Gold, die cracks, strike and crustyness (is that a word). Looks like a weak strike to me. The stars at 9 and 10 o'clock are interesting. I liked the cheek so added it to my collection. Putting on my thick skin suit LOL...Take care...CC

Nice coin. I think the word to descibe it would be "charming." Nice soft luster and I love the reddish toning in the denticles.

    Cheers!

Very nice. Not unattractive at all. Looks like small die cracks starting at the stars to the rim. I think you did fine. Zack.

Nothing to knock about any gold coin, including that dollar.

Buying an 1853 gold dollar started me on a very expensive love affair with the series. You have been hooked. Enjoy!

Always been a fan of type ones. They look like mini-twenties. I like die cracks too.
    Great dollar !
