Anyone want to pick an 1855/54 overdate off eBay

I believe with >99% certainty that this is an 1855/54 WB-2 overdate. It shows what appears to be the doubled ball on the first "5" and has the distinct die scratch between the two rock bases that is diagnostic for this die marriage. I don't see the horizontal crossbar of the "4," but I oftentimes don't see it in blurry photos, and it is secondary character for me in recognizing these overdates. I think I see the foot of the "4" though.

I've been blocked from bidding for some unknown reason. So, if anyone is interested in it, it's what I consider VF25 and it is listed at $190 or best offer. Straight graded, this coin can bring $300-$400. The auction closes at 6:30 PM today (Wednesday).

Perhaps this should go on the BS&T board.

I've already picked more than a roll of these 55/54 overdates, so I really don't need this one anyway. If I could bid, I'd try to get it for around $150-160. I contacted the seller to inquire why I was blocked, but they didn't respond. So that's why I'm posting this here.

On eBay if you're blocked your messages to the seller are also blocked.

This particular seller apparently has blocked me. I'm able to bid elsewhere and picked up a nice XF45 1857 SLH a few hours later.

Sooooo, If for some reason you are blocked How do you make contact to find out WHY you were blocked????
I can't bid on a few sellers coins that I have never dealt with, I'm blocked for some reason I have 100% feedback with over 1000 feedbacks!

As far as I know there is no work-around. If you're blocked from bidding with a seller, your communications with that seller are also blocked.
I've blocked very few buyers/bidders since 1997 yet each one I have had to do so I am grateful I don't have to read any of their tirades or complaints- including 'requesting' the reason as to why they were blocked.
I'd think most if not all of them could easily figure it out on their own and their inquiry is just an opportunity to pile on.

I have no clue why unless it was the seller who misidentified a scarce DM as a very rare DM and was asking $22K for a coin that was actually worth $4K. Or maybe it was the seller who asking $5K for a coin worth only $20. I might have offered them $20 with a brief explanation and that ticked them off. Sellers don't like having their mistakes corrected or their scams discovered by a snarky buyer.

Twelve more hours before that auction closes. I doubt anyone outside the board will discover it unless they are very familiar with the three DMs that comprise 1855/54 overdates. Buy it for $160 and sell it after grading and attribution (free for Redbook varieties) for $350. That will buy a lot of beer and Slim Jims, or junk silver.

ask another eBay account holder to ask for you

if you just buy you can only have 100% feedback since eBay stopped sellers leaving negatives years ago
