I was there on Friday morning. My wife and I made a small vacation around the show, this is the second time we've been here and probably the last. It's not the show's fault, just tired of traffic everywhere, there are better places/shows to go to. The show is held at a hotel and it seem like it has outgrown this location. Most of the tables are in the hotel's conference room, the rest of the tables (maybe 25%) are in hallways and small attached rooms. The show was pretty crowded, not sure if it was because of the small rooms or there were a lot of people there. It was defiantly not worth $10 admission.

I've been told that in addition to making money for the shows sponsor, these admissions are to keep out the local teenagers and riff-raff.

So, local teenagers (not YN’s) would go to a coin show? Things must have changed radically since I was a teenager.

I had plans to go, but the plans got messed up. I like this show. People complain about the $10 admission, but the parking is FREE.

A $10 admission fee is going to deter many collectors. The show operators are going to have to insure that the dealer offerings at the show are "fresh" and realistically priced. There had better be more available than tables full of slabbed Morgan Dollars or modern bullion coins.. If the offerings are stale and the prices are high the collectors will lose interest in the show and not return the next year.

This table alone will have me coming back next year.

I heard from "Pepsi Joe" Fuller on the show and his lower end material.

Do you really think anyone would be willing to invest their time and gas money to attend a coin show, but would not also be willing to pay a $10 admission fee?

For the average collector ... YES! ... and there are a lot of average collectors out there.

I'm sure the hotel didn't offer up the conference room for FREE??
The small TUCSON SHOW had raffle prizes to generate money for a family in need.
Not sure how they did but we bought tickets for that as well.
We drove 3 hours one way stayed the weekend, I wasn't worried about the $10 admission...sure free would have been better but so would $2 gas like was available years earlier :)

I'm sure the dealers who profited from the show paid a hefty table fee.

I can't think of a single retail establishment where you have to pay a $10 fee to enter to spend your money for their merchandise.

I took my wife to one of those junk festivals last fall and they charged $10 dollars but they also gave you a coupon good at any of the retailer booths. james

A little bit different but Costco charges for membership to enter.

My cost to attend this show: 4 hours to drive 200 miles, a half a tank of gas, the 10 dollar admission fee, and another 10 dollars at Subway on the way home. I couldn't find the higher-ticket coins I was looking for. Doesn't sound very cost-friendly. But I schmoozed with various dealers, saw many great coins, asked a lot of questions, and had a great day. And at my post-retirement age, that ain't bad. I'm happily going again next year, God willing.

The $10 dollar admission is bad enough, but eating at Subway! Come on!

    What about the Jiggly Room?

All joking aside, at least the parking is free, and no tolls. This used to be THE show in New England, happening 2-3 times each year. Now it's once per year, and it has less dealers than when it was in Boston. There are a few dealers who go here that don't go to Manchester, but most would agree Manchester NH is THE show to attend now in New England.

Considering that most people are buying selling and trading coins $100+ at the show I don’t see the big deal for a $10 fee. After all you pay a fee on eBay, auction sites, or if you are just spectating, a museum fee. And parking is free.

Not complaining about the fee, just responding to most gun shows have $7-$10 fees. I must have been to 50 gun shows(most had coins also) never paid an entrance fee. Eastern US.

Gun shows are $20 in Southern California and they’re packed.
